Gabrielle Whitehead (morgynalex) | 129 comments Whenever I get ready to read, I'll make a cup of hot chocolate, and I'll have a snack tray filled with candy. I can say that I have read a book just because of the food in the book. I've also tried following the recipes that people adopted from the book.

Barbara I don't usually eat when I'm reading - I might make a cup of tea or coffee or hot chocolate.
One of my favorite mystery series - the Cat Austen mysteries - has a lot of food because the heroine comes from this big Italian family, her father owned a restaurant and they are all big on family meals.
As a matter of fact, one of her recipes was in a book I got years ago - it was called "A Taste of Murder" a cookbook made up of recipes contributed by mystery authors, recipes for food that was featured in one of their books. Some of the recipes were just for humor, but a lot of them were pretty good.
