Dan | 256 comments Our Summer 2021 group read, starting the first full day of said season (June 21) is to be Moon Dancing by Iain McLachlan. Iain, the author, is an honored member of our group and thus has presumably already read the novel at least once, maybe twice. He will therefore not get to have as much reading fun as we will this summer.

Please post comments here to this topic. If your post contains spoilers please use spoiler tags, especially through July. As August wears on, this will be less of a concern unless the spoiler is really egregious.

There is a Wikipedia article about an Iain McLachlan, but he is a Canadian writer, not the same fellow as who wrote our werewolf book this month. Our Iain is apparently Northern Irish, which is where our novel is also set. Here is Amazon's page for him: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T75X5L3/...

This novel, first in a trilogy, looks like a very solid piece of fiction. I have no real idea what to expect from it, how much werewolf lore it might contain, and whatnot. But I'm really looking forward to digging in to this serious, longish novel together later this month. This looks like the perfect summer read since we presumably have some extra time for such endeavors (forgive my American spelling).

Thank you for choosing my work,

I will not post any spoilers, except for all the locations described (except for the deer farm) are real.

very happy to reply to all questions and queries.

I am really looking forward to hearing what you think of the story :-)

Dan | 256 comments Edit: (Condensed Version of My Earlier Too Long Post)
I am four percent of the way into the novel and have decided to discontinue reading. The text, in my opinion, needs an editor. Too many run-on sentences (commas and semicolons used where periods are needed) is the most problematic (but not the only) issue. The shouting all caps sentences is another. The many characters and shifting perspectives among them in the story isn't appealing to me either. I hope others get more out of this book than I do.
