●tk● (thenonexistentchild) Me too. I have so many I can’t remember them all.😅

message 4: by Kara (new)

Kara (Books.and.salt) (booksandsalt) I mean, Harry Potter of course! I first read the series when I had my brain surgery 10 years ago and it was the best distraction, took me to a whole different world!
These days my favorite series has to be Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire. I'm reading the 6th book that just came out now, theyre so magical.

Yes! I’ve only read the first book of the wayward children series but I loved it. I would by the whole series but the trouble is they’re so expensive for such short books?

message 6: by ●tk● (new)

●tk● (thenonexistentchild) Yeah! If it wasn’t for Alice Newton ( one of the Bloomsbury publisher’s daughter) Harry Potter would never have been born.

Bonnie (thedaylightreader) | 2584 comments Mod
Ah I used to love Jacqueline Wilson books years ago

message 39: by nina (new)

nina k (ninabooks) she writes alot of like umm YA with like real life problems. maybe with divorce or abuse so *trigger warning* kinda stuff? but not always and it usually does say in the blurb. my personal favorite of hers in Hetty Feather and Lola Rose

message 40: by Natasha (last edited Jun 18, 2021 06:46AM) (new)

Natasha Leighton (natashaleighton) | 48 comments I always thought her books were good coming of age books when I was really young. But, as I got older (14 onwards) I found them difficult to enjoy as the writing seemed geared more for younger readers. I’m glad you love her books soo much,I was totally obsessed with Tracy Beaker (the book and the original TV show.)

message 41: by Bonnie, Creator and Head Of Organisation (new)

Bonnie (thedaylightreader) | 2584 comments Mod
Yeah same. I probably wouldn’t pick them up now

message 42: by nina (new)

nina k (ninabooks) now that I've grown older yes, but I loved them when I was younger and even if it is geared towards younger readers I would probably still read her new books cause
