ah, good question! and not at all stupid.
When you randomise via GR, just keep going down the page until you get to the first book with H.

Has anyone figured out a way to get back to the old view of books that gave us access to the list of shelves? For task #1, I've been looking at the other tasks, and then checking the list of shelves to see whether they're included there. The new page style only shows about ten, and I haven't found a way to link to more. Are those gone forever?

Iam sure there is a bit at the bottom that say go back to - whatever I have stuck with old style the new one is awful

Just go to your want to read shelf and at the bottom of the screen change sort by to random

I'm still on old view, Susan, I think you're just viewing the beta version? If so, there's a floating black box with 'Beta' on bottom right corner. Click that & there's a 'leave Beta' option which will return you to the old book page.

Whew! I'd successfully opted out of the Beta version at home, and forgotten about it. But this happened while I was on my trip and using my laptop. And I thought I was stuck with that version forever. Thanks, Marie (UK) and Tien. Good to be home and able to search book shelves again.

Okay, I figured it out. The first time I got a book I can't get through my library (and right now it's got to be already owned or from the library, so I took the second book down (I just removed the first from my want to read shelf since I don't even remember why I added it) and it was Simon the Fiddler by Paulette Jiles

I'll update above so I remember why I'm reading it other than the fact that I like Jiles' writing.

No, I didn't notice where/how to do that. But I'm happy to go back and do it if you clue me in on how.

When you're in Beta mode and getting back to usual mode, next to the 'leave Beta', there's feedback button :)

When I did that, it took me to a weird blue page that said "Choose which account to send the email from," and the only thing to click on that page was "Cancel."

When I clicked "Cancel," I got a page that wanted me to add an account, and then jump through a bunch of hoops to link my email account to Windows. That's a complication I'm unwilling to do for security reasons, so I guess there's no way I can send anything. They probably really don't want a lot of feedback, anyway, if they make sending it so restrictive.

That's strange... I didn't have to do that at all. Took me to a page with survey questions... but then again, I did this a long time ago, maybe they change??

It may be because your email account is already linked to the browser Tien.
