Hi I'm Gem. I'm from UK, about an hour from London. I have been signed up on netgalley since 2016 when I requested a lot of books I still haven't got around to. More recently though I request things I am actually interested in, Thrillers, Crimes, Horrors and the occasional romance. I hope we can find some books to buddy read in the coming months.
Hello, I’m Marnie from the southeast U.S. I started reviewing books for NetGalley years ago but then took a several years break. I just started back this month. This group is such a great idea!

Welcome, Gem & Marnie! So glad you joined the group!
I'm Kristie from Virginia, U.S. I joined NetGalley years ago as well. I'm much better about requesting now, though I still have my moments of weakness. lol Lately, I've been reviewing by pub date, but just barely. I'm hoping having people to read with will help me get to some of my reads sooner.
I read a lot of mystery, thrillers, and historical fiction, but I also read a little from most genres.

Name is Lynn and I'm from York, England. I joined Netgalley in 2017, consistently used it since then and I'm proud to say that I've never dipped below 90% feedback ratio.
I read pretty much all genres
Hi! I'm Maria and I'm from Spain. I joined NetGalley about a year and a half ago. I also review some titles from Edelweiss+ and booksirens. I mostly read chick lit, I hope to find some buddy readers here :)
Hi everyone,This is Gunit. I am from India. A few years ago I only read mystery novels. But since last year, I started expanding my horizons and now I read pretty much anything, depending on my mood. My favorite genres are mysteries, fictions and historical fictions. I've been reviewing books since I joined Goodreads last year. I joined NetGalley about 2 months ago. I also review books on instagram and I am currently working on my website as well.
Hi, I’m Lilisa from the U.S. Thanks for creating this group Kristie. I joined NetGalley a few years ago. Historical and contemporary fiction, nonfiction, and books set around the world are my favorites. I also enjoy mysteries/thrillers and mystical realism in small doses. I’m trying to expand my horizons though :-)
Hi Everyone!I'm Vanessa and I am from India. I joined both Goodreads and NetGalley just a year back. I actually discovered NetGalley through Goodreads itself and I am totally addicted to it!
I read mystery & thrillers, YA, Graphic novels, Women Fiction and General Fiction.
I try to control my requesting but sometimes I just can't. So I struggle to keep my feedback ratio near 85%.
I also review books on instagram!
Welcome, B.B. If you have any copies of your book to offer in exchange for reviews, please feel free to post in this thread: Book Promotions.
Hi! I am Debbie from Mobile, AL. (Gulf Coast). I have been using NetGalley for 5 or 6 years. Sometimes heavier than others. I haven't been able to keep up in the last 6 months. I was always pretty good at keeping my percentage at 80 but it is much further down now...tho, I do still request. I gravitate mostly to thrillers; but, I do read many other genres. I need to get caught up somewhat too. I think buddy reads are are so much better!
Hi Krisite! Thanks for the invite! I'm from the U.S., in Iowa to be exact. I used to be super good about keeping up-to-date on my requests from NetGalley but I started watching my young grandson last year and well, I fell behind. I'm going to kick it into high gear and play catch-up because I know that I have a lot of great books that I have requested or were given to me , that I want to read. I do enjoy buddy reading and I read most genres except heavy romance. I do have a few blogs, I'm an active library volunteer, and I've been reading on NetGalley for a while. I write reviews for all the books that I read and I post them on a variety of websites.
Welcome, Sandy! Hopefully, some buddy reads will help you catch up. I watch my grandson in the summers and have to plan less reading that time of year now. I love it though. :)
Hi everyone, thanks for the invite, Kristie. I'm from PA and have been on NG for several years. I try to keep my requests down so that I can keep up so I'm a little worried that I may end up with lots more requests but I'll try to be good. ;)Looking forward to being a part of this fun group!
Hi everyone! My name is Jenny and I live in Milwaukee, WI. I initially signed up for Netgalley back in 2012 and even downloaded a few books, but I ended up never reading them. I started using it again early this spring. I was good about keeping up at first, but then I got completely overwhelmed. I have no problems reading the books, but I struggle a lot with the writing. I was really excited to see a group that enjoys doing the same thing. I will read pretty much all genres, but my favorites are thriller, suspense, mystery, some sci fi (weird fiction, near future) and horror.
Hi Kevin from Scotland here.Relatively new to Netgalley (around 40 books read) but have been lucky in getting most of the books I have requested.
Never done a buddy read before so keen to get started
I'm Karen from Ohio, USA. I signed up for NetGalley back in 2016, and at that time did 2 reviews. I ended up having to go back to work full time, and though I was still an avid reader, I sadly didn't feel like I had time for reviews. I got back to doing reviews about a month ago, and have since reviewed 5 more books. I have been keeping up with my review and poetry blog as well, and that feels wonderful. :)
I enjoy a vast array of genres, including, but not limited to, murder mystery, psychological thrillers, cozy mysteries, poetry, short stories, fantasy, sci fi, historical fiction, historical non fiction, and general non fiction.
Welcome, Karen. I know it feels good to get some of those books read, reviewed and off the shelf. :)
Welcome, Kevin! Jump right in on any discussion you want.
Welcome, Karen! Five reviews your first month back is excellent! I agree. It always feels good to get some of those books reviewed. I also enjoy a wide variety of genres.

Hi Everyone from Minnesota (US)
I've been on NG since 2016 and I look forward to these NG discussions.

Hi! I'm Darlene from Colorado. I'm fairly new to the ARC thing. I've been reviewing for almost a year through NetGalley, Edelweiss, BookishFirst, and BookSirens. I have a stash I need to get through and lining up some buddy reads for them would be a lot of fun. I like mysteries, historical fiction, chick lit, literary fiction, middle grade, and classics.
Welcome to the group, Darlene! The buddy reads definitely help us get through our reads. Let us know what you have and if we also have the book we'll set up a read. :)
Hi everybody! I'm Meg, I'm from Canada. I read many genres, though my go-tos are literary fiction, memoirs, chick-lit and essays. I am very new to NetGalley, I just set up my account last week and I got my first round of eARCs that I requested accepted today. Reading is often a solo activity so I am looking foreword to meeting some buddies here :)
Welcome Meg! Congrats on your eARCs and looking forward to chatting books with you. Beware, your NG shelf may grow, lol.
It has doubled in size in one day! I was surprised that I would be accepted for so many, given I just joined a few days ago. I had a question: do you have to read and review within the 54 days of being accepted for the arc or is it 54 days after the download?
Meg wrote: "I had a question: do you have to read and review within the 54 days of b..."
I go by pub date. They generally don't want reviews published until a month or two before the book pub date.
On your Netgalley shelf you can organize by pub date and I use that to select my next book to read.

Meg, I do pay attention to my 'feedback ratio' on NG though. I try to keep my shelf on the smaller side so that my ratio stays on the higher end.
Welcome, Meg! Looking forward to chatting about books!
I also use pub dates for reading. I'm guessing that you are using an app to read that tells you you have 54 days? If a book is dowloaded to Kindle you keep it forever so you don't need to worry about that. If your app tells you 54 days, then that would likely be from download. Though, if the book is still available, you can probably download again.
I always download right away so I don't miss an archive date. Once books are archived, you can no longer download them. You may want to wait a little longer if you only have them for 54 days, but you'll need to keep track of when they archive so you don't miss any. They don't always archive on pub date.

Hello!Just joined. I've been using Netgalley for years, but I'm just coming back from an almost year long reading slump. I moved across the country, got behind and just haven't been able to catch up - but I'm going to start catching up now! lol I'm excited to join in and get some of my reading done with buddies!
