Oh here is the blurb and cover Nalini Singh returns to the world of the Guild Hunters for the most highly anticipated novel of the beloved series—a love story so epic it’s been half a millennia in the making…
Illium and Aodhan. Aodhan and Illium. For centuries they’ve been inseparable: the best of friends, closer than brothers, companions of the heart. But that was before—before darkness befell Aodhan and shattered him, body, mind, and soul. Now, at long last, Aodhan is healing, but his new-found strength and independence may come at a devastating cost—his relationship with Illium.
As they serve side by side in China, a territory yet marked by the evil of its former archangel, the secret it holds nightmarish beyond imagining, things come to an explosive decision point. Illium and Aodhan must either walk away from the relationship that has defined them—or step forward into a future that promises a bond infinitely precious in the life of an immortal…but that demands a terrifying vulnerability from two badly bruised hearts.
I love the cover!! Not sure about the story, they are such good friends. They might be better together, will have to wait and see.
People have been clammering for this couple for years. I've never been sure about it, but no doubt Nalini will sway opinions.Love the cover!
I think the cover is fantastic. I really like it a lot.I'm looking forward to seeing how she does it. I think she's been foreshadowing it for years so I didn't understand all the people who said they didn't see it coming. From just a story line perspective I think they'll be a good match for each other. Who better to be with than your best friend?
From an overall society perspective, I'm glad she's doing it. People say "love is love" but clearly it's not when so many people are freaking out over two fictional characters in a made up world being together. This author was writing characters of color and lgbtq characters way before other main stream authors were (albeit mostly side characters) and I think it's important that ALL readers see themselves reflected in books, not just straight, white people.
I actually happened to come across a random Facebook chat Nalini did last night (well last night in the US) and she mostly talked about her new psy changling branch off series but someone asked if this would be the last Guild Hunter book and she said no, that she's got more story to tell and she's not sure when she'll wrap it up. I remember years ago her plan was to wrap it up after all of the Seven were matched up but I guess that's changed.
Glad to hear Guild Hunters will keep going, its such a different world, it would be a shame for it to end.And I agree Alisa, there's been speculation for years about Bluebell & Aodhan, so I don't know why there would be any surprise.
Has anyone else finished this one?I will say the book is sweet and honestly I really loved the yesterday stories the today was ok.n Most important she stayed true to the characters it read really naturally if that makes sense.
Loved the insight into the backstories. I really loved seeing a younger Raphel and Nassir.
I will say as the book ended I was left thinking about when was the last time I read a book where men have a deep connection which is not sexual so many stories in UF are female-dominated so

I read it too and liked it. I really liked that we got their history of their friendship. It made the change in their relationship make more sense.

The cover is fantastic though!
Thoughts anyone?
