- the necromancy actually worked better than expected, no one tried to kill them and even though they didn't get much out of Cinderella, at least they know to look for a journal now! though that's not very useful... who knows what it looks like or where it is, or even if it contains useful information. but fingers crossed they find a way to take down the king/prince!
- the divination stuff was also interesting and pretty much confirmed your theory, Karen dearest, that he was sucking the life and youth from people! the ball of light must be youth, and he must have sucked it out of Cinderella, which is why she was old like Liv, i mean we practically saw it happening in the drawing in the book! we're both so good at inventing theories hehe.
however it's a little concerning that Sophia saw him taking her youth from her... hopefully that doesn't happen!
- it's also so cool that they've heard of other fairytales like snow white, i wonder if the author plans to write more retellings! that could definitely be cool.
- and i still can't decide on my thoughts about Sophia and Constance together haha, but i think i like them, they're quite cute. i still really want Luke to return, i hope we meet him again!
i'll wait for you before finishing the book, but feel free to finish it all in one go if you want :))

- [ ] Oh my Constance will kill Amina, what would provoke such a crime? I get they don’t get along but to kill her ?
- [ ] It must be about that the person who she sees lying in the smoking room
- [ ] But I do not get what Sophia saw, what could it mean, we know the king is a living corpse basically

- [ ] Oh my goodness, yes that makes sense with my theory, Cinderella would have been his first victim as king. I don’t know if he did it before he became prince but I hold firm she was his victim
- [ ] Ah that makes sense, I can’t believe I didn’t connect the dots earlier but that light would have been him taking her youth and then she dies
- [ ] But then that means Sophia will experience this herself! The king will get her and try to take her youth

- [ ] Oh wow I liked how we got to see the two stories together. Whoever wrote the story Constance has, it was like they witnessed it.
- [ ] How terrifying though that last page, the king embracing her and Cinderella trying to fight back

Agreed! I was worried it was all a waste especially when she said she couldn’t remember much but at least they have a lead, but you’re right who knows where they can look. But I assume if the king knows about it would have been destroyed or he has it close to him

Agreed! It all makes sense now. I do feel like a damn detective now, look at us being Sherlock Holmes 🧐😉😏

Aww yeah that’s a great idea! I do hope she continues to write more fairytales retelling, she is really good at it
yeah her writing is super easy to read and entertaining, and quite addictive! i'm reading another of her books next month with another group and reading Cinderella is Dead with you this month has made me extra excited for it ;)

OH ALSO, The Bronzed Beasts comes out next month, which is book #3 in the The Gilded Wolves series!! i know we're super swamped with Red Rising, but when we have some free time (probably in a couple months haha) we should definitely buddy read that together and finish off the series!! i'll probably have to read our discussion of book #2 to remember what happened haha
