I’ll nominate the book I’m reading right now because I’m finding it really interesting: White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America.
I'll start the ball rolling by nominating The Tragedy of the Worker: Towards the Proletarocene by The Salvage Collective
Given the recent IPCC report, it's apt that one of the questions posed by the book is "What does it mean to be a communist after we have hit a climate tipping point?"
From the blurb on the book - "Salvage is the most exciting journal to appear on the anglophone left over the past decade: avant-garde Marxism with no illusions, perfectly pitched to our dismal times. Here the formidable Salvage Collective tackles the defining question of those times: the ecological crisis. The result is the most beautiful and urgent essay yet written on what climate catastrophe means for the struggle for communism, in the past, present and future. This is one for the ages.
--Andreas Malm, author of How to Blow Up a Pipeline"
And - since September is a busy month for many of us - the fact that its only 104 pages is a bonus!

I’d recommend Blood in My Eye by George Jackson, just because ive been slowly making my way through it and need an extra push to do so. Someone else on here graciously gave me a pdf link to it if anyone is interested :)
I'll probably read Kuruma's book Marx's Theory of the Genesis of Money. Kuruma delves into the theory of money and probably the behavior of commodity owners and what not and how value is abstracted. After all our fixation on value is what brought the whole world into a mess why not take a important look into it?
I've ordered my copy of Border and Rule: Global Migration, Capitalism, and the Rise of Racist Nationalism, but while I'm waiting for it to arrive, I'm going to try to squeeze in my nomination - The Tragedy of the Worker: Towards the Proletarocene. Its only a short book, so I think I can finish it before starting "Border and Rule" at the beginning of September.
Who is planning to read Border and Rule: Global Migration, Capitalism, and the Rise of Racist Nationalism with the group in September?
I would like to read this! My local library does not have it on hand; anyone know where I could find / borrow a copy online?
