Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon discussion
Readathon Announcements

BUT if you don't want to officially sign up, you don't have to, you can jump in :)
We only have one more day till the readathon officially begins. I am going to keep the Abecedarian, States, and Countries games going during the readathon, though I may not be tallying everyone's contributions till the day after the readathon. Counting is surprisingly hard sometimes when one is sleep deprived. :)
The Bingo boards are available as links here and in the Announcements section of facebook.
I'll be setting up the co-mod hourly discussion folder soon. We'll have the traditional hour-long sprints at hours 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, and 24, and I'll post the topics for all those as well, Now is a great time to dust off your old readathon logs in the For the Blogless folder, or make one if you don't have one yet. Be sure to choose the For the Blogless folder for your readathon logs' folder when you make new ones.
Enjoy your last day of pre-readathon prep time, and we'll dive in bright and early (we start at 6am for my time zone) on Saturday with our first reading sprint of the readathon. Oh, and we still have ~6 time slots left for co-mods, mostly in the second half of the readathon. If you've fancied the notion of becoming more officially involved with this readathon, being a co-mod for an hour or two is a nice step in that direction. :)

If there is a bingo board, could you maybe send a link to it in a message to everyone? Would be nice, can’t find it anywhere. I always love the bingo most of all :D

The Bingo board links are in the Bingo thread, which currently lives in the Pre-readathon folder. I'll be setting up the folders for the readathon itself shortly, There are 5 boards, including one for the pre-readathon and 4 that are designed to be used during the readathon. When I finish setting up the readathon folder for tomorrow, there will be a place in that folder for discussion about the boards.

Further update re- Bingo. I moved the thread for Bingo to the October 2021 Readathon folder. All the board links are there. I'll set up an actual folder for the boards by tonight, too, but in the meantime they should be easy enough to find now.
Our first readathon event for 2022, the Spring Readathon will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2022. We will, as always, start at 8am Eastern Time.

Yes, thank you, Kelley! I'm sad I missed the mini readathon events over the winter. :(

Don't feel bad, I did too. I get notifications for everything in here but I get busy during the holidays with my second job so I didn't see them in time to participate either.

Susan, I am leaving myself note about your birhday, just so I can wish you a happy one at the fallr readathon :-)
Yay! I have added them to our calendar. That way hopefully we will have little or nothing else to do! :)
Added to my calendar. 8 PM EST on a Friday is going to be my 2 AM on that Saturday. It‘s going to be interesting to start in the middle of the night…

The Reverse is usually pretty low-key, a couple of discussions will get posted, but it's usually mostly quiet. Nothing like the usual April/October lead-up and fanfare.
Shame. For us Europeans this is the real challenge! And the usual ones are at "normal times". Luckily I have a massive assignment from my book club, I could use the readathon to read through a lot of those. Hopefully!
Guess I also have to make my own bingo. :-p
I love the reverse read-a-thon - prefer it because I get my sleep out of the way early and when it begins, and ends, I'm in my "up" phase for awhile
I know they did pre-readathon challenges (hours/pages/books and prompts) before the last reverse. And they had a bingo board for the day of. I've been checking in for weeks hoping for some warm up games or challenges. (I've already finished the Inter-readathon challenges.)I love the reverse readathon. It starts at 8pm for me which means that even if I fall asleep (which I always do) I wake up and still have half the readathon ahead of me.
We'll be doing sprints and the InterReadathon Challenge as the pre-readathon activities for this reverse readathon. For folks who have already finished the Summer InterReadathon Challenge, here's a challenge extansion. You can write it out as a bingo board easily if you wish, but since Goodreads is not great for graphics and I am working out this while one on Goodreads, it is text only at the moment.
Row 1: Read something published in the 1960s.
Read something with a gray cover.
Read something set during winter or set someplace cold.
Row 2: Read something with only 1-3 characters in it.
Read something with poetry in it.
Read something recommended by, or read by a character in something else.
Row 3: Read something published before 1920.
Read something with a red cover.
Read a book you picked at random from a shelf of books.(Try not to cheat, but if your first try lands on something ridiculous you can try again, once.)
I hope this keeps everyone busy enough for the next couple weeks. Some of our pre-readathon activities for Fall will be posted within a week or so after the reverse readathon, and we'll be in full pre-readathon mode by mid August for that one.

Hi! The bio on Twitter and one of the announcement tweets says the starting time is 8pm, the sign up sheet says 8am though, which I think is correct but a lot of people are feeling mixed up now. Maybe change the bio and tweet the correct time?
Looking forward to the readathon!! 💜

Thanks for the links, although I couldnt make those sites work the way I wanted them too. I used a more classic converter. Anyhow, Saturday will mostly not happen for me, I will probably only join the readathon on Sunday morning—it end at 2 p.m. on Sunday for me…

Our 2021 Reverse Readathon went well, with some great bookish conversations and posts, and lots of books read. I hope everyone had fun and is looking forward to our next readathon, which will be
Saturday, October 23rd, starting at 8am EST
We'll have the sign up form up soon on the website, and pre-readathon challenges and activities will be popping up soon on all our favorite social media sites.
