Remi is a war correspondent, one of the best in the buslness, but now shaken by the capture of 3 French journalist friends in the Middle East. She wants nothing more to get to Beirut to support Jean-Baptiste, the only one of the 3 who has been released. Remi convinces her editor to send her back to do a story on a senator heading to Beirut to give a speech at American University. Remi is one of the most dedicated war correspondents out there, with no time for personal relationships outside her 'wombats' - Remi's term for the other foreign correspondents considered part of her inner circle. Note- there is quite an entertaining and just odd info dump on wombats as Remi explains why she calls them that.

T-Rex is with Delta Force, and one of the detail assigned as personal security to the senator, and at the special request of the senator. He can't say no though this type of assignment is not much to his liking. He's also a widower, determined not to try to juggle a relationship with the demands of Delta Force. Yeah, that's out the window when he and Remi get a look at each other. Of course.

Naturally, they have not even managed to leave DC when things start going awry, with incresingly dangerous events, news of escalating attacks on foreign journalists, and oh the senator is acting very odd. All comes to a pretty thilling climax in Beirut.

Once again the K=9s only have cameos, but there are plenty of studly men along with the high level action and some pretty hot sex. The journalists under attack theme seems to be left hanging....will have to see if it comes up again in the next in the series. This particular trilogy, with 'danger' in the titles are not stand alones.
