2021 Halloween Season Reading Challenge
Ok I’m having trouble signing up. When I click the link it just takes me to my own 2021 Reading Challenge. I’m doing this on my phone (no access to desktop Goodreads)
I challenged myself to 8 books! Thanks, Alan! Hmm, it worked perfectly for me, Beth. There is no denying that the GR app sucks and that's probably why. I tried a different way, try this link. My fingers are crossed for you!

You might have to sign in, and if that happens you’ll have to re-paste the link into the browser. :) that’s what I did.
Yay! This will be fun! Just finished a book last night and have to choose a new one tonight. I’ll find one that fits.
I signed up for 7 books. Not sure what I will be reading yet. I'm impressed with all of you who have it all planned out already!

I'll confess to planning a lot of my fall/Halloween reading very very early in the year. So much good stuff out there to read and so little time to read it all!

I chose 3, but I'm going to try to read longer books. Zombie--Handling the Undead
Vampire--Let the Right One In
3rd--still thinking!
If anyone has recommendations (especially books about witches) I'd love to hear them!
You don't have to decide right now on all your books. You can always add what you read afterwards.
My first (witch) is Crone by Jeannie Wycherley. I’ll definitely add as I go. I like to wait and see what I’m in the mood for.
I'm in! Halloween is so much fun for horror!I'll try for 5 :)

I signed up for 4 but depending on time I might do more. What I'm considering so far:Cat - Cat's Cradle
Ghost - Remember Me
Monster - The Children's Ward
Treats - Tastes Like Candy: A Slasher Novel
Tricks - The Wrong Number
Vampire - Bloodchild
Zombie - Necrotic Fever (could be debatable as horror but considering the love interest seems like a zombie-esque creature, that could be horrifying to some.)

Your welcome
Awesome! This looks like so much fun! I signed up for four, but I'm not sure which ones I'm going to read yet. :)Read Relic for monster! 3 more to go! :)
Really looking forward to this, going to set a goal of 8. Hope everyone has a great time with it and a great spooky season overall :)
oooooo I'm so in! I'm gonna go big with 13! :D I'm being optimistic! Haha...I need some help with scarecrow though. I'll be looking for recommendations for that one in this thread. :3
My plan right now is to do short stories, just in case I don't have a ton of time. I've got Poe's complete works, plenty of Stephen King short stories, and other ghost story books, plus a list of horror short stories that I've been enjoying. Then once I finish the challenge I'll see if I have any time left for full novels. Loving everyone's recommendations!

You can name the shelf on your own page whatever you want. To have it link to the actual challenge on the group page, make sure you enter the same name in the box where it says "Enter a a shelf name...."

09-21
3 down, 3 more to go. Going to take a little break from my list
,
A Night In Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny. While its more dark fantasy then horror, I still suggest this book because it has Jack The Ripper, and his faithful familiar trying to stop The Old Ones from coming to our world, while also interacting with Dracula, Sherlock Holmes, and Frankenstein and his Monster among numerous other fictional and very real characters.
It's honestly the perfect book for October (it even has the month in the title)!
