After almost 150 episodes of the Am Writing Fantasy podcast, we decided that it's time to shake things up a bit 😉.
Once a month, we're going to dedicate an episode to some critical reading.
The idea is to read a top-notch fantasy book and then discuss the tropes, characters, magic, worlds, and plot.
We would love for you to read along and will also facilitate a discussion thread in the Am Writing Fantasy Facebook group once the episode has gone live.
The voting for which book to read took place over the last week (on Patreon and in the Am Writing Fantasy Facebook group) and the voting was between The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.
We had a clear winner. We will read The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin.
If you're interested in hearing our conclusions, make sure to subscribe to the Am Writing Fantasy podcast. It's free. Just search for 'Am Writing Fantasy' in your podcast app and you'll find us.
