I read this book some 10 years ago but this book was already old when I discovered it. You were the best fighter in a time-traveling dojo where they train fighters to go back in time to aid humanity or something. Some evil dude created evil clones of these fighters to replace them in their respective time period. Your mission was to travel to different time periods and track down the clones to defeat them and take their homing beacons so you can travel to the main villain's base to defeat him. The different fighters included a vampire and a caveman but there were many others. I remember one of the fighters actually returned to the dojo but it was actually the clone who tries to blow the whole dojo up. There was one where you had to go to a trial of the fighter and you could decide whether to help the fighter go free or have them burned at the stake. When you finally reach the main villain's base you have to defeat a clone of yourself. The book had many black and white illustrations. There was a character sheet where you can write what items you have discovered and roll dice for combat. You also had a certain amount of health. I loved this book when I was a kid and I want to revisit it but my months of searching have led me nowhere. This book was a choose your own adventure book however it was not part of the Choose Your Own Adventure book series. Any help would be appreciated

Might be, but at least not that one. I read it, and there is no time travel or clones involved. Pretty cool book, though, didn't remember the name until I saw the cover. Wish I had found more like it.
