the orchids are the top ten students in the school. they have their own special dorm and house, as well as being almost guaranteed a spot in any college they want after they graduate. to be an orchid, you need to have ridiculously good grades, as well as participate in a number of clubs and extracurriculars. everyone in the school is competing to be in one of the highly coveted spots, so if you'd like to keep yours, you'd better work hard and focus all your energy on it.
