Char | 17481 comments We're almost halfway through this short month already, so I thought I would start our suggestion thread for the month. Please post your suggestions here for our March group read!

This thread has only been up for a few hours and has already been inundated with authors nominating their own books. Any posts by authors doing this will be immediately deleted! Any nominations BY authors for books NOT written by them will gladly be accepted!

message 2: by Michaelbrent (new)

Michaelbrent Collings (michaelbrentcollings) | 110 comments I'd suggest anything from the Bram Stoker Awards "Best Novel" prelim list. And I AM on it (full disclosure), so I will also "recuse" my own book - I think Jade Sky is a great one, ditto The Reborn.

Here's the list:

The Final Winter by Iain Rob Wright The Final Winter by Iain Rob Wright

With all the snowfall in the eastern US, how about something with lots of snow? I live in AZ so reading about snow is the only way I can experience it. :-)

Jack Rollins | 71 comments Could I suggest we try All or Nothing by Stuart Keane it's his first full-length novel and I've enjoyed 2 novellas he put out. For disclosure, I worked with him in an anthology, but that's because I enjoyed his other work.

Ok so I didn't look at the list until after, but searched for the two you mentioned here to see what they were about -- but I found a totally different "The Reborn"....
This first sentence of it's synopsis creeped me out enough to want to read it. LOL --- (I hate clowns).
"The clown suddenly appeared beside a group of kids at the candy floss van, bringing Kira to an abrupt halt."

Divide Then Conquer Parts 1-3 Box Set The Zombie Company Crusade by J.L. Koszarek

A considerably short read. This book has something for every horror aficionado.

message 34: by Anne (new)

Denise (drams5) | 155 comments I was going to suggest Broken Monsters, but looks like someone beat me to it.

message 36: by Mark (new)

Mark Matthews (xmarkm) | 269 comments I'm reading Broken Monsters right now, so I'm happy if that's on the list. (Unless it bumps Maxine's splendid choice, of course). If we do read it, y'all invited over to my house for a "Broken Monsters" tour since it takes place down the street, just a five iron shot across the other side of the tracks.

No kidding, that's great to hear, I've only read his short stories so far. He has a way of sneaking up on the reader.. sometimes it's a while until you realize that he pulled the rug from under your feet and the story plunges into some nutso zone, love that.
