I love it!! Some of my favorite books I read this year:A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende (hist. fiction)
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (fantasy)
and Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano (Realistic/contemporary)
I would love to hear what other people have been reading!
Cool idea :) Here are some I loved this year; I listened to all except the graphic memoir. Most are probably classified as literary fiction but The Vanishing Half might be historical fiction.Americanah
The Vanishing Half
Homeland Elegies
The Overstory
Best novella / short novel:
Nothing to See Here
Best graphic memoir:
Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic

Thanks for sharing. My readings so far:
Where the crawdads sing by Delia owen
THE abortion by Richard brautigan
The Dutch house by Ann Patchett
An American marriage by tayari Jones.
Although last 2 were more like the regular reads, where the crawdads sing was awesome.. I loved it.the way author explains abt the marsh girl was nice.
And the abortion.. Heard a pbs podcast about this a while ago. Easy read but brilliant.
Didn't much tried the historic fiction.. Would mark the vanishing half and a long petal of the sea for my next.
