Markus was sitting at his desk sipping away at a fresh coffee. He was looking at what he was going to teach today. He wanted class to be fun, but he also wanted the students to learn a lot. There were so many good artists, and he really wants them to go places in life. He smiled as he glanced over to the wall of art. His students were very creative.
Madison walked in, the class was partly full of students. She found a seat in the second row all the way to the right. She was relieved to be in Art not only because it was her favorite class, but she could finally work on some of her sketches she wanted to work on but hadn't had the time lately.
Markus was in the middle of looking through the art when he heard her enter. He smiled and looked up from his stack of students art. He noticed the girl was already sitting down. “Well, hello! How are you?” He looked down at his stack of papers and back up at her. “Now, let’s see if I can remember your name…” he thought for a few moments. “Um, Madeline?”
(Sorry I'm late!)Ember ran in, a little late cause her 5 minute nap went on for too long, clenching her sketchbook and materials to her chest, slightly panting. Surprise, surprise, she was good at running too. Ignoring the looks from a few people in the back, she looked around for a seat. Seeing that there weren't many, she sat next to an unfamiliar girl in the second row. Plopping her things down, she sat down, letting out a deep breath.
She looked up from her sketch book and took a slight glance at the person sitting next to her. She went back to answering her art teacher "Close, its Madison." She went back to her sketching.
(what do we call the teacher? Mr Markus?)
Ember noticed the person next to her glancing at her. Hearing the short conversation between the girl and their teacher, she learned that the girl's name was Madison. A pretty name really, Ember thought. She glanced softly at the girl's artwork and slowly smiled. "You're really good." She said out of nowhere.

(its 9:12 rn I'll be going to bed rn too. Sorry I couldn't respond earlier)Madison didn't notice she was watching and quickly closed her sketch book and blushed. She turn to her "Thanks...but i'm sure you are better."
((No problem! I was studying anyway XD))Ember chuckled softly at the girl's sudden actions, amused. "Nah, I'm alright, not the best." She kept back from saying that it wasn't her passion, cause she didn't need more looks than she already gets.
Shaking her head she continued, "And give yourself some credit, girl. That's really good." She smiled softly, sitting up straight. "I'm Ember, Ember Garcia, nice to meet you." She introduced herself slightly awkwardly, cause she wasn't used to it.

Markus smiled. "Yeah, pretty close." He smiled wider as a new girl entered the room. When they started complimenting each other, he leaned back in his chair, the wide smile still apparent on his face. "So, Ember and Madison, how are you doing with your work?" He leaned forward again. His eyes held happiness and excitement.
Ember turned to the teacher with a soft smile. One of the only people who didn't dislike her just cause it wasn't her calling was Mr. Kyng. "I guess I'm doing okay..." She replied, awkwardly, yet respectfully, opening out her sketchbook. Brushing to the page of her latest drawing, she looked at it with a soft sigh. It was almost complete and the result was very good, but it lacked that passion the other kids' drawings had. She knew Mr. Kyng could notice that.
"I'm doing great, I'm almost done with my sketch. I think it's turning out great." she answered. She oped her sketch book back to the page after saying "I'm Madison Lopez.". She smiled. She looked at Embers work. "You work looks great! I just think it need something else to make it pop, but I'm not sure what.". She went back to her sketching adding a few details here and there.
(What are they drawing? The..I guess..the meaning? Like is it supposed to make them remember a past memory? Maybe a drawing that represents them? )
Ember's lips curved a bit when the girl introduced herself. Hearing Madison's reply, she chucked. "That's actually true. It's quite cool you can see that..." She mumbled to herself, thinking. "You seem to love art a lot, huh?" She mumbled, resting her head on her chin, sighing. Art was nice and all, but it just didn't make the emptiness in her heart complete. Sure, a nice hobby, but wasn't everything she did a hobby? Was there anything that would make the empty space in her heart full?
((Y'all can pick what they're supposed to be working on- I don't even know XD))Markus nodded at the girls who were now engaged in conversation with each other. He was proud that they came out and talked to each other even though they hadn't known each other. He took a sip of his coffee, even though it was now going lukewarm. He sighed softly and shook it, hoping the little warmth would last. He went back to looking through his papers he had to grade. He had a small smile on his face as he started to sift through them again.
(XD) (Uhm...Myself as an artist irl. I like to draw how I feel. So I guess.. If that's fine with you guys)"Yup, do you?" She paused "You have potential, I can see it." She smiled. 'Starting out great so far' She thought to herself. Making friends was never easy for her, but with Ember, their conversations came easy.
"When class is over do you wanna get some lunch together?" She asked. "Only if you want to!" She added quickly.
(Yep, fine by me XD)Ember smiled a little more than before, her cheeks becoming more prominent. "Thank you for the compliment. It isn't my passion, but I enjoy the freedom of creativity I get here." Her voice was soft and gentle. For someone who found it very hard to make friends, this was the easiest conversation she has had with someone other than her family.
The introvert's insides were filled with happiness when Madison asked her to get lunch together. Sure, her nap time was going to get cut, but she didn't mind that at all if it meant finally becoming friends with someone. She smiled, nodding softly, "I'd like that very much."
Madison smiled even more. She looked at the board, She noticed their assignment today. She flipped to a new page. She thought for a while trying to be as creative as possible. Once she got her Idea she started to sketch it out. She Lightly pressed the pencil to the paper trying not to make the sketch so dark.
Ember looked up at the board and let out a soft sigh. She looked back at the sketchbook and thought for a while. Nothing was coming to mind. Draw how you feel? She didn't know how she felt. At the moment she felt sleepy, a little excited and anxious. But, was that what their teacher expected from them? Or was it something deeper? At this point, she could just draw some z's and clouds and her dream bed and that would be exactly what she felt. Ember shook her head, Stop being stupid, Em, and think a bit. Her concentration level's was to be very honest, were very low.
Madison was half way done with her drawing. She looked to Ember and saw she was having trouble. "Having a hard time with ideas?" she asked. She looked back at her sketch "Me too." She huffed and flipped to a new page 'Draw how you feel' she repeated in her head a few times. She leaded back on her chair thinking hard. After a while of thinking, she finally had the right Idea. 'Its gotta be better than the dumb cartoon I drew.' she thought. She started to put her pencil on her paper once again, focusing to get every curve the way she wanted it. 'It has to be perfect.' she thought to herself.
