Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving weekend! It's been a slow reading week. I finished The Relatives by Camilla Gibb for book club and was disappointed in it. I am currently picking away at a few others including Fight Night by Miriam Toews, was happy to see her on the Giller list. I hope to gain some reading time on the weekend, I treated myself to The Strangers by Katherena Vermette so hope to dive in to it soon!
Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a good long weekend.I got a lot of reading done this week, but mostly short books. :-) I finished The Souvenir Museum, We, Jane, and The Pursuit of Endurance: Harnessing the Record-Breaking Power of Strength and Resilience and also read Zorrie.
Zorrie was fantastic - a quiet novel that tells the life story of an ordinary woman living in rural Indiana in less than 200 pages.
I'm currently reading On Fire: The Case for the Green New Deal for bingo and Fight Night for Giller prep. I'm also working on a book of short stories set in New Orleans, The Ones Who Don't Say They Love You: Stories
Happy Thanksgiving weekend! This week, I am continuing to listen Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, though in nonfiction I did finish On Fire: The Case for the Green New Deal and Certain Woman of an Age. The latter, written and performed by Margaret Trudeau, was just the treat I didn't know I needed.
I am also reading Fight Night, my first Giller shortlist book. I was so happy to win a lovely hardcover edition in a giveaway!

Trivia: the mother of a girl I used to play with babysat Margaret Trudeau when she was a child and they used to go to their summer home. Also, the age difference between her and Pierre was the same as between my dad and my sister. As a child that flummoxed me!
