Growing up I always wanted Stephen King's Dark Tower series to be made into a movie with Clint Eastwood playing the role of the Gunslinger. Now that it's finally going to happen I'm a little apprehensive.
ever watch the cartoon it was awesome but i had to do it undercover cause mom said d&d would make you commit suicide ..
theres so many i would like to see becomea movie, wheel of time is at the top of the list. Withthe success of game of thrones on hbo i would rather see it on tv though. Never thought i would see game of thrones on tv but man are they knocking it out of the park. Nicole are you saying they are actually making movies out of the dark tower? This isnt just rumor?
Fxx recently made a really bad wheel of time pilot just to keep the rights to it.They aired it at 1 30 am in between infomercials, really disappointing to see the series treated that way. It could be just as successful as game of thrones if done right. http://arstechnica.com/the-multiverse...
Not a movie but I'm looking forward to the Elfstones of Shannara series coming to MTV this year. I've been reading Shannara for about 23 years now. They have been working closely with Terry Brooks to make sure it stays as true as possible to the novel.
I am a little hesitant because it is going on mtv. Everyone is trying to piggyback off of game of thrones.
Yeah, I get your hesitation. I'm ok with them "piggybacking" off GoT. To be honest I did not like Game of Thrones the novel, so I never bothered with the TV show.
I haven't watched or read Game of Thrones, because I'm not really a fan of the "terrible people doing terrible things" genre. But I'd definitely be interested in seeing other books or book series adapted to TV series.
Game of thrones was the first book in a long time to truly catch me off guard, i can never predict where things are going. I completely understand that it is a little much for alot of people though it can be depressing and infuriating at times.
I would love to see a really good Dune movie. The books are amazing and I feel like they deserve a big screen big budget treatment. I would also love a Sword of Truth movie. I loved the tv show and I wish they could redo as a movie with the same actors, but stay closer to the books.
Hasnt dune had movies or tv shows? I would love for themto do a sword of truth movie but i dont think it will happen after the catastrophe that was the tv show. They went so far off from the books it was ridiculous. I love the books though, are you still reading the new ones?
Dune has had a movie and mini series, but I would love for it to have a really good movie. I enjoyed Legend of the Seeker as show, but I watched it before I read the books, after reading the books I saw how far off they were. I am a few books behind, but I have been trying to keep up. I'm waiting on the more recent ones to be out on paperback, I like having my series to all be the same binding
I think legend of the seeker is a good show if you have no knowledge of the books. I couldnt reconcile myself with some of the things they changed.
Same, I don't know if I would have liked the show as much if I had read the books first. I want to do a rewatch to see if I will still enjoy it
I agree john. And yes I knew doc. D&D is one of what Steve refers to as "the foundation of my geekdom"
my only d&d for a long time was the animated cartoon, though even that was done in secret since mom said it would make you commit suicide, until i started reading a few of the books.
That animated Dragon Lance movie does not count. Just like I am still waiting for the Jurassic Park movie.
