He died. Um, dead bodies are good for the earth so uh...yeah that's why the roses bloomed even better the next year
now realizing how dark the story is
Redfur bounded around camp. He was finally free to play with his friends. “Ash!” He called his striped gray friend over, white tail tip wagging.
“What?” Ash called back.
“Let's go play around camp!”
Ash padded over.
Redfur looked around. The big pine trees and bramble bushes made the wall of the camp. A stone outcropping was near the entrance. This was where they all shared prey from the hunting parties. There was a big cave in the back wall, where the leader, Flame, slept. Flame was a big red female fox whose voice was filled with authority.
Redfur turned around, looking at his friend. Ash’s long gray fur ruffled from the wind. His white muzzle turned up as he looked at an oncoming storm.
“Look at that,” he said. “It looks bad.”
Redfur heard a distant rumble of thunder.
He looked up. The black puffy clouds loomed overhead. There was a flash and then another rumble of thunder.
The winds picked up.
Suddenly, there was a rustle in the bramble entrance. The latest hunting party had returned.
Redfur rushed over, his dark orange fur blowing around. “The snow is coming,” a fox named Snowfur growled. Redfur shuddered, The snow always brought the least prey and the worst storms.
Just then came the loudest rumble of all.
The storm was here.
