I wasn't one of the roleplayers, but I hope you can find your friends. I'm not sure how many people still check this group, but hopefully there will be some who see your note and check in. :-)

I don't expect to find too many, but it'd be nice if someday someone did actually see this. It's nice that there's a group for us to try to connect. Have you connected with your former Shelfari friends? I really hope you have! (Also, is there a name you prefer being called?)

My main shelfari group moved here, so many of us are still there. Of course, in the past 5 years, there are many more people, and some didn't come here from shelfari and some started here, but didn't like it so kind of dropped off.
My real name is Cindy (and I'm a librarian), so LibraryCin. So, Cindy or Cin or LC, for short are all fine.
That's great to hear Cindy! It's always good that you're in touch with your former friends, even if that's just a portion. Really hoping this group attracts more members eventually. And as obvious as it is, feel free to call me Riley. I'll be checking in on this group from time to time to keep it semi-active :)

Many years ago, I joined Shelfari and started my little roleplaying journey there. The roleplaying community on Shelfari was fun and lively, and we had so many different groups and members creating new stories every day. Like many others, I made so many new friends, and Shelfari felt like a second home to me. Unfortunately, Shelfari shut down in 2016, and I failed to keep in touch with my former roleplaying buddies, due to life getting in the way.
Now, as I'm back to Goodreads, I'd love to get to know any other roleplayers who also used to write on Shelfari! If you're curious, I used to go by the name "Star", and I was an active member in many groups and roleplays. If you think we've roleplayed before, feel free to private message me! I'd love to talk to you, and I miss most of my former friends. It's a pity that I lost touch with everyone. If you think we haven't roleplayed before, feel free to private message me anyways! I love meeting new friends. Or you can just comment under this discussion, and we could chat.
I don't mean to post a direct advertisement, but if the person reading this is interested, I created a group called Roleplay Getaway not long ago. It's a group focused on connecting all Goodreads roleplayers into one place, and you are free to look for new roleplaying partners, as well as post advertisements for your roleplay groups. If you used to roleplay on Shelfari, I'd also love it if you joined us, so we get to chat some more.
