Nidhi Kumari | 336 comments I will start reading this after I finish Brothers Karamazov, which is taking all my mental energy currently.

This author is new for me, I am curious about his work.

Inese Okonova | 88 comments There are actually two authors - Ilya Ilf and Yevgeny Petrov and the book is simply hilarious. One thing You should bare in mind when reading this is that the action takes place in a very particular moment of Soviet history. This is so called time of NEP (New Economic Policy) when after the Russian Civil War the economy was collapsing and Lenin decided that some elements of free market should be allowed as a temporary solution to the crises. The book is quite hefty but I think it is really worth reading. Enjoy!

I'm struggling with this one right now, since I've got too many books on the go, so I'm taking a break-especially since I'm reading
The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky and loving that one.
I don't see the humour in The Twelve Chairs, but that could be just me. I didn't see any humour in Catch-22 either.
But I really enjoyed The Master and Margarita.

I had to put in an inter-library loan (ILL) request for this book since nether library system I use has it. It should be coming in soon, I hope. ILLs take a long time to process but I’m thankful for the service.

I received my ILL copy today but will probably have to hold off until January to read it. I didn’t realize how long it was! I’ve got 2 other long books I’m trying to finish by Dec 31. I have the book checked out until March 12th. Is anyone else planning to read it in the next few months??
