Here are some ideas:The Dresden Files series
Anything by Charles de Lint in his Newford series
Little, Big by John Crowley
You might like Gail Carriger.I heartily second Charles de Lint!
It may be out of print, but War for the Oaks is a fun read.
Also, you can't go wrong with Neil Gaiman
Thank you all! I haven't read anything by Guy Gavriel Kay, no. I'll check him out!
Also, I've read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and I found it... dull? I was told later that it was a children's book so that might be the reason that I didn't like it. But the book really wasn't up my alley, so I'm a bit hesitant to try anything else by Neil Gaiman.
Also I believe the Farseer trilogy is on my TBR! If it isn't, I'll add it quickly because I've indeed heard good things about it.

I've been into fantasy lately, and I want to read more of that. I hope it's okay to ask for recommendations here? If not let me know and I'll keep it in mind next time.
I'm not into the type of fantasy with dragons, elves, dwarves, witches and wizards all crammed in one universe. But the kind where mostly "normal" humans occupy the fictional towns. I guess the latter is called "low fantasy"? But I'm not sure, lecture me on subgenres please. ;P
I'm also really into towns packed with people, with narrow streets and dark alleys, and market places and horse-and-carriage. Kind of a pre-industrial vibe, I'd say?
For those who are familiar with his works, Michael J Sullivan's Riyria universe (book 1 is The Crown Tower) is exactly what I'm looking for.
Again, if this is not allowed according to the group rules, I apologize. If it is... I will check out every single recommendation that is left here.
Love,
