Challenge Books - Winter 2021 - 22

This season we are reading a children's book or five. The number is up to you.
I think this will be useful for planning Christmas presents, or for those who find books coming in to the house at Christmas, or who gain book tokens or Amazon credit vouchers for Christmas. Other holidays and birthdays are probably good sources of young people's books too!
I have a few YA reads stacked up here and books for younger people tend to be shorter, so I should be okay to aim for five. I just scraped in with five last season.

I've had a query as to what counts as a children's book.
If you want to read a book written for young children, or older kids, or for young teens, any of those will do.
If you want to re-read Black Beauty or Fury, Smoky or Blitz, those are good too. They were written for a general audience but are especially good for younger readers.
Some suggestions!

Oh wow, I love some of those so much. You may not fit them all in before the end of the challenge - or maybe you're a fast reader!

I have read Freckles and a couple of the Pony Pals books. Doing well on the challenge and I just need one more book to hit my target.

I read another Pony Pals book today while waiting for the computer to download and install a program, so that gets me past the target.
Yay! The best part is, I still have another few of those books here to read.

Just finished this one, it's a sad tale mostly but ends on a good note.
Good-Bye Pony
How is anyone else doing on their challenge target?

If you don't see the latest active challenge click the link Challenges.
You will be asked which shelf the books to read are on. If you say horse and you do not have a horse bookshelf, Goodreads will put one in to your personal list of shelves.
When you complete a read you have placed on that shelf Goodreads sees the progress.
Now the challenge registers that you have read some of the books.
You might decide to name it challenge shelf so it would be used for challenges in any other Group too.
Tell us your titles in this thread.
