When Max meets with Blair Caldwell and her attorney, they both want her to stop the investigation until after her trial, fearing it could hurt her case. Did you understand their point of view or was their behavior puzzling?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I went round and round at this one.

At first I thought it was a little strange that they were worried. If Max pointed the finger at another killer wouldn't that be reasonable doubt. Then I thought their concerns make sense, because the publicity could be grounds for a mistrial. Finally, I thought Blair is guilty.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I thought it was very curious. What better way to prove her innocent than to find the killer? It seemed strange to me that John went to the effort of contacting Max without his wife and her attorney on board. Very strange.

I didn’t understand this at all. Finding the real killer should clear Blair. It was here when I started getting the two distinctions …proving her innocence versus finding the killer of those three other boys. And, I started smelling a rat.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I could understand their hesitance on having Max dig into the case. Blair's attorney thought they had the case won with the information that the prosecution had shared with them. You don't want Max digging up something that will hurt the case, even if Blair is innocent.

On the other hand, if Blair is found guilty, Max could come up with new information. Of course, it's very hard to overturn a conviction.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Also, I thought about the jealousy issue (either direction perhaps), but that didn't last long.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I understood why, to a degree. If she was truly innocent then nothing Max found would have hurt her case.
