Max and Lucy are both driven to find the truth and get justice even though they go about it in different ways. They also share tragedies in their past.
Max and Lucy are both driven to find the truth and get justice even though they go about it in different ways. They also share tragedies in their past. Max never had family to fight for her, even though her grandmother loved her in her way. Max only has herself to rely on which hurts. Lucy always had love around her. The Kincaids did everything they could to protect her and rescue her even though that hurts sometimes too.
They do have a bond.
Max and Lucy are both tenacious, they both seek the truth until they find it. They both want men who can stand with them and be their equal. Lucy has found hers, Max is just deciding she wants that too.
Max and Lucy are both tenacious, they both seek the truth until they find it. They both want men who can stand with them and be their equal. Lucy has found hers, Max is just deciding she wants that too.Lucy has an almost overprotective, involved family. Max has a very distant family. Lucy upholds the law, Max takes laws as suggestions and would likely skirt any that got in her way.
I don't think I would go so far as to say they have a bond. They do have a deep respect for each other.

Both of them seek the truth. Lucy goes further, saying she needs justice. She even got Max to acknowledge the same when she asked what she was looking for in solving her friend Karen’s murder.
Lucy believes in the rules but is willing to step into gray areas when lives are at stake. Max isn’t concerned with them because she’s not bound by them. She’s not in law enforcement.
Both of them are extremely good at what they do. They’re also gifted with being able to see people for who they really are, doing that pretty quickly. They’re insightful about people. Max recognized that Lucy was even better at it than she.
Family is a big distinction. Lucy grew up being wrapped around by love, knowing what family really means. Max has no reference for any of this. Her instincts for how to deal with the Kincaids’ backlash was so flawed because she was clueless about those dynamics. That’s where Lucy is whole and Max has a vacuum. It’s why she needs something from a relationship that was undefinable until she met Lucy and Max. That helped her decide it was time to end things with him. She deserves her own Sean, someone to love her unconditionally.
These women have more in common than they do differences. This investigation will always bond them…freeing them both from things that were weighing them down. I don’t see them being bosom buddies in the future but they’ll always have a healthy respect for one another.
