The Last Graduate 4 1/2 stars rounding up

I got a little testy in the first half of the book. Although I love El, she sure can ramble on and on and on....I digress, it's still a heck of a good book, but the ending took me by surprise, (view spoiler)[I thought this was a duology but with the cliff hanger of ending, I am sure El and Orion's story will continue (hide spoiler)]

Novik has a wonderful imagination, her world building and magic are always a cut above the rest. However, she also has a way of adding real world social issues to the mix. Nature vs. Nurture is a big one in this series. I also like that her heroes are never perfect people. I loved the expansion of El's friendships with the girls. Her relationship with Orion cracked me up. It was definitely a flash back to high school for me.

Novik is an author who rarely disappoints me-I am raising the 4 1/2 stars to 5 just because I like her style!
