Please post a comment below to nominate a book for the group to read for January 2022.

Please use the "add book/author" link just above the comment box to insert a link to the Goodreads book page for the book you are nominating, so other members can more easily assess it. Apparently this only works on the desktop version of the site; if you use the app, the link is not available yet, so just be sure to put the full title and author.

To check whether a book has been previously read or already selected to be read, check the following list: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

You may nominate a book which has been suggested previously and did not win. You may nominate more than one book, but we might not include all of your nominations in the voting.

Please do not nominate a book which is unlikely to be available to most members, such as one which was just published within the last three months or which is only available on Kindle in the U.S.

Nominations will close on November 22 or when we have about 10 good nominations, whichever occurs first.

Herman Diaz | 119 comments I nominate Dinosaurs: How they lived and evolved. It's the best natural history of dinos for adults. I reviewed the 1st edition ( https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ). Also, this group needs more dino love ;)

Unfortunately, this book does not seem to be widely available. It is available from Amazon U.S., but only in paperback and a very expensive hardback. No ebook. No audiobook. Also not available in any format from my rather large local library system.

This also does not seem to be widely available. Published in 1995-96. One hardback copy at Amazon U.S. No paperback except from third party sellers (used). No ebook. No audiobook. And it's not available at the library in any format.

The link you supplied clearly states that a kindle version is not available.

Yuval Kanev (ykanev) | 7 comments The book is definitely available.
I have just downloaded a sample from the link to Amazon.com.
There was no note of unavailability.

Could be a location issue - it is available as both Kindle and paperback in the UK, but definitely more expensive than usual.

I don't know what to tell you. When I follow your link, there is no kindle edition listed and there is clearly a message in the middle of the page that states "We're sorry, the Kindle Edition of this title is not currently available for purchase." I also didn't see a link to download a sample.

Are you in the U.S.? Perhaps we're connecting to different versions of Amazon.

Yuval Kanev (ykanev) | 7 comments My link pointed to the US Bookstore.
https://www.amazon.com/ etc...

Which Kindle store are you connected to? (France? Australia? What? )

In my experience, this well-known work of Feyerabend was available for many years on Amazon Kindle Stores.

But right now, I don't see it in the Canada Kindle store. (Why? who knows?)

I'm in the US & got the same results as Betsy did - no Kindle version & the HB edition is $63.22. Here's the web page your link sent me to:

I'm in the U.S. like Jim.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 744 comments I'll nominate The Wizard and the Prophet: Two Remarkable Scientists and Their Dueling Visions to Shape Tomorrow's World by Charles C. Mann. It's a well balanced comparison of Borlaug (Green Revolution) & Vogt (conservation).

message 24: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Mills (nancyfaym) | 489 comments Quite a contrast! An excellent book, I hope we read this one. It'll be a re-read for me, but it's worth reading twice.
