Rose pushed open the heavy door to the ballroom. She knows she is a little early but she wanted to check with the staff and make sure everything was in place to greet the guests. Her eyes scan the room proving what she already knew to be true, that she was the first one there. She walks around the room checking on the tables to the side of the ballroom, making sure the orchestra was warmed up and check that the butlers had the food that they were to pass out. She nods with a smile looking around once for and finding no faults. She goes and sits down at one of the tables starting to get tired from all the walking around the ballroom. She sits and waits for the first selected to arrive or the other royals which ever would come first

Charm paused outside the door, unsure whether she should go in or not. She was a bit early and the hubbub coming from the ballroom wasn't that of guests mingling. She took a deep breath, straightened her dress, and and walked in.

Charm's eyes grew wide when she saw the ballroom. She was standing at the top of the stairs, gazing down to a massive dance floor. The tables were in perfect rows, the chairs lined up straight. Except for the one with Queen Rose. Charm had admired how the queen presented herself on TV, distant but relatable. It was no different now. The queen wore a dress that was a lovey shade of teal and a small tiara graced her head.

Charm clutched her dress in one fist and the railing with the other, hoping that she wouldn't fall. Skootching one slippered foot ahead of the other, she made her way down the grand staircase.

Rose smiles seeing the hesitant selected walk into the ballroom. “She seems almost clumsy?” She thinks to herself amused seeing how tight the girl was gripping the banister and how she never seemed to take her eyes off the stairs in front of her after she had finished admiring the ballroom. She stands up straightening her dress and walks over to the other girl once she finishes descending the stair. “I am Queen Rose as you most likely know. What is your name?” She asks. “I should have taken more time to review the names of the selected girls” she thinks to herself hating how unprepared she felt

Charm smiled, surprised that the Queen had approached her. "I'm Charm." She dipped into a quick curtsy. "This is amazing." Charm said with a wave of her hand, motioning to the entire room. "Did you arrange it?"

((Ahh! I might be a little late to post but I'll be back in like a few hours :())

“I can’t take all the credit but yes most of it was my idea” she explain. “I thought it would be a good opportunity for all you selected to meet the royal family” she explains. “Though I don’t know if the king will be able to make it sadly, since he has been very busy lately” she admits not wanting to disappoint them

"That's perfectly reasonable. He's the King, he has to run all of Illea." Charm smiled. "It just means more of the girls will talk to you."

A tinkling caught Charm's ear and she turned to see her cat Prince bounding down the stairs, the golden bell on his collar singing. The furry black cat dove into her skirts, batting at the material playfully.

Charm gaped at the cat. "Prince you naughty thing, get out of here!" Charm swished her skirts out of Prince's reach, but he just chased them. So she plopped the dress onto of the cat, trapping him in her skirt. Charm felt her face turning bright red.
"I'm sorry." She said to Queen Rose. "I'll get him out."

She chuckles softly hearing Prince say something about escaping a cage. “It is perfectly fine. I would very much like to be formally introduced to this Prince. But maybe some other time? Since the head maid might have a heart attack if she sees a pet trying to disrupt the ball. She already banned my Snowball from the room” she jokes amused.

Two guards opened the doors, and Princess Angelina walked in. She scanned the room and hesitated to walk down the stairs when she made eye contact with Rose. Angel took a deep breath, rolled back her shoulders, and gracefully made her way down the staircase.

Charm nods, grateful Queen Rose isn't mad. She bent down and pulled him out from her skirt. "I'll be back once he's locked in my room." She curtsied again and turned to leave, only to see Princess Angelina walking down the stairs. Another curtsy and Charm walked up the stairs, Prince in one arm and her dress in the other.

Charm reentered the room, still picking off some cat hairs. She looked up to see Charlotte ahead of her, looking nervous. Charm stopped next to her. "Don't be scared. My cat interrupted a conversation Queen Rose and I were having and she wasn't mad."

“Angel” she starts quickly walking over to her smiling. “I hope she isn’t still mad” she thinks to herself. “I love your dress” she says trying to butter her up just in case she still was

Angel clears her throat before speaking. "Hi, Rose." She says giving her sister-in-law a hesitant smile. "Thank you." She looked down at her gown and frowned slightly. It wasn't her best work but she was in a rush.

"Are you excited to meet the selected? One of them might be your future sister-in-law" she says with a smile. "I have only met one of them, Charm. So far but I have a feeling we will be meeting more very soon" she says noticing the other selected girl come in

"I suppose." She says, frowning. Their family seemed to just keep growing larger. She was afraid that she'd have to carry a list of their names around to remember everyone. Angelina sighed, "I miss Dorian." She muttered

Rose walks over to the selected hearing the last part about the king. “Oh you don’t have to worry about Dylan. I will make sure he is nice to you” she says with a teasing smile. “So what is your name?” She asks the new selected girl

Charm backed away from the Queen and Charlotte, careful to not trip on her dress. She wandered around the room, admiring the floral arraignments centered at each table. The orchestra was playing a lovely tune. Charm wondered if Aaron could play this song, with the graceful ups and downs. The music created pictures in her head, forming into shapes like clouds. A bird fluttering and landing on a bouncing branch, a caterpillar curling into a ball, a pebble leaving a ripple in still waters.

Charm was so lost in her thoughts that she bumped into a butler. "I'm so sorry!" Charm gasped. The butler smiled. "Apology accepted." He extended his tray, which had a mountain of tiny sandwiches stacked neatly. Charm reached and plucked one off. "Thank you." The butler offered a small bow before walking away.

Charm pulled out one of the elegant chairs, thinking it best she sit down.

Dylan who had been taking care of the security measures finally found time to see Rose. He took gentle steps across the ballroom towards her, standing right beside her with a small smile; one he always has when he sees Rose. "So! What have I missed?"

He realized there was a selected in front of them and quickly put his poker face on, completely contradictory to the dorky/lovesick face he made at Rose.

[Me when I act crazy with my friends and the creepy male music teacher sees me: 💀]

Rose jumps having not heard Dylan come up next to her and having been startled. “Dylan!” She exclaims seeing who it was she clutches her chest trying to slow down her frantic heart. “Don’t do that” she exclaims lightly pushing him in a teasing manner. “This is, Charlotte right?” She says looking at the selected girl in front of her to make sure she was right, remembering reading her pamphlet earlier. “And the girl who just walked away is Charm” she explains to Dylan. “You havent missed much the selected girls have just started to arrive” she admits

Angelina sighed and turned to look around the room. Everything seemed to be finished here. She had wanted to formally apologize for the way she acted towards them but that could wait.

Ruby walked into the ballroom and saw all the people, she was excited to see Rose and her husband. The last time she was here it was for Dylan's Selection. That was interesting for her.

Prince Ben walked in and looked around the room. Once he spotted Ruby he made his way over to her side.

Ruby was against the wall when Ben was making his way over to her. "Is there anything to eat?" she asked him, she didn't have anything to eat that day.

"Um..." He looks around for a maid or butler. One comes around holding tiny sandwhiches and Ben took about three. "Here."

Rose looks around hearing the door open and close more than once. She smiles when she sees Ruby and Ben. She waved at them both before turning back to the selected girl. “I hope you have a good time, make sure you get introduced to the rest of the royal family, they might be your future family also” she says kindly to the selected girl before grabbing Dylan’s hand and dragging him over to where Ruby is. “Ruby!” She says happily letting go of his hand to hug her

Charm gazed at the people milling about and laughed when she saw Queen Rose running very unladylike across the room. She could imagine Grace doing just the same if she ever visited. Except Grace would be wearing pants under her dress. Probably with a sword straddled to it.

Charm contemplated carrying a dagger under her own skirt. It might be a good idea. Especially if I come across any rats in the passages... she shuddered at the thought. Yup. Dagger it is.

Ruby took a sandwich from ben, "Rose?" she says as she ate the sandwhich.

Ben smiled as Rose approached with his cousin. "Hello again, Rose." He says kindly.

Ruby saw that there was water, she excused herself and went to go get water.

“Sorry, I guess the festivity is getting to me.” She says with a smile. Trying to calm down her nerves she fidgets slightly. “Hi Ben” she says
