A Place For ALL Artists! discussion

Unfortunately, the lack of digital snow around here will force us to create these men of snow a slightly different way. Grab your pens, pencils, paint, and paper (or your other artistic thingamajigs that sadly do not start with p) because we’re doing this the old-fashioned way! (aka non-digital ;D)

The rules are simple: trace (or try to copy) the snowman base posted below and create your own frosty friend!

What’s required:
- 3 round parts of the body (must be white snow, no yellow or otherwise XD)
- at least 2 eyes
- at least 2 arms
- a carrot nose
- some sort of background (it can be as simple or as detailed as you want!)
- your GR username somewhere, big enough to see

When this contest ends on the night of the 18th, we will do the usual contest routine, but with a little twist. All the snowmen masterpieces will be uploaded onto a group poll for y’all to vote on your favorite. (The winner will get to request some form of art from Lunar!) Even if yours doesn’t win, it will be added onto a collective snowman collage and posted to the group for all to see! :D

But here’s the twist — the mods will come together afterwards and select a snowman winner for a number of different categories! The specifics will be decided later, but those could include “fanciest,” “best dressed,” “silliest,” “most colorful,” “most creative,” “holiday-est,” or other similar categories.

So yeah, that’s pretty much it. Basically, just make an awesome snowman or snowmen and have fun with it! :D

OH, AND DID I MENTION THAT YOU CAN’T DO DIGITAL ART FOR THIS ONE? >:D

Can we do colors for other details? Like hats, gloves, scarfs?

I didn't make this contest, but it would make sense to do that. Make it unique!

Yep, of course! The only required color is white for the snow. Everything else can be any color (even the carrot nose XD)~

My snowman doesn't have a carrot nose- He has a black rock for a nose

Ah, well it’s supposed to have a carrot nose, but I guess that’s ok.

Some people use rocks or coal for noses for their snowmen if they don't have a carrot

I usually end up using whatever I find if I don't have a carrot when building a snowman- Once I put a stick for the snowman's nose

Figured lol XD I just came back from Phoenix a couple months ago. It snows where I'm at in Texas, but not as bad as it does up north. It also doesn't last as long

Lol I'm in Edmonton. And I'm buried under blankets but I'm still cold cause it's freezing here and my window doesn't completely close 😂

I live near a ginormous mountain lol I live in the Chihuahuan desert region. As much as maps/puzzles like to say we do, we don't have saguaros here

Literally this year has been so weird here. Like it didn't get cold until like late October (it usually gets cold in early October) and the temperatures keep changing

I used to live in Maryland so we would always see snow but now we live in North Carolina and I havnet seen snow in like 3 years :")
