Great review. I was wondering about this one. I was hoping to fit in this one, or The Eyre Affair at the end of the month for some fun fantasy.

Often the first book in a long series is a bit weak but I thought it opened up lots of future storylines. Plus robot alligators are always a hook for me.

Often these missions have dangerous consequences. This particular book takes place in an alternate Victorian era setting filled with Fae, zeppelins, secret societies, werewolves, vampires, mechanical centipedes, and machines that run on clockwork technology
Irene is a fantastic main heroine. She obtains books by any means necessary from different worlds to solidify the Library’s connection to those worlds. There are lots of characters and subplots throughout this book and it might be confusing at first. The characters are given room to grow, and future possibilities are endless. There are currently seven books in the series.
The story is fast paced and filled with clever dialogue, humor, and plot twists. I'm hooked and have the next book of the series, The Masked City, queued up for January.
