Char Not reading what you wrote, but I'm trying to hold back some tears here. I'm still on chapter 42

Char And I'm back to hating Tanaka again.

Char I didn't care who she slept with or how, I just didn't like her. I understand how she was "born" out of an angry childhood, (Are you mad? Or are you sad?) I did feel some empathy for her, but I did not like her-even though she eventually did the right thing.

I loved the book overall, though. I felt terrible for Naomi losing Jim, for everyone losing Jim, really. I also felt bad for Amos, but now he is The Translator? Do you think we will have further books about Amos' adventures? Maybe stories about Alex or Naomi? Theresa or Muskrat? Do you think this is really the end?

Char I most likely will be too.

Thanks so much for asking me to take part in your group read. :)

Char Agreed! If I see another book coming out in the future, I will look you back up and we can do it again!

Happy holidays to you and yours and stay safe!

Efka (3fka) | 11 comments So, um, what's your take on the final ka-boom? Did the station exploded in the ring space, or did Holden let it fall into the realm of dark gods and gave them a little surprise of the little big bang?

Char ????

I like that it's up for interpretation.

Efka (3fka) | 11 comments It is. Have fun watching! ;)

Char WOW, that's a ringing endorsement! I need to finish Lost in Space first and then, if Ozark isn't back, I think I'll hop right into The Expanse.

Efka (3fka) | 11 comments Mass effect is my favorite, too.
Speaking about casting - yeah, it's good. But while Chatham does a really nice job being Amos, I still imagine the book version very differently. For me, Dave Bautista would be a perfect Amos. Much older, much grittier and way more bigger. :))

Caro the Helmet Lady (caro_helmet_lady) | 14 comments Well, I;m finally done with it, not without sadness I must add. And not without help of my new glasses, alas, lol...

Not exactly how I imagined it was going to end, but satisfying anyway. Sad for Jim... That's not fair. But pretty much expectable in some way.

Glad you enjoyed the show, William!! It's really great, I'm saving it for a bit later, the last season.

Efka (3fka) | 11 comments Regarding the tv show - I'm pretty much sure the showrunners made a decent background for a possible spin-off, about Laconia and the entities.

Even bigger news, at least for me, I just found out - Telltale Games are making an Expanse game. Fingers crossed!

Char I am finally watching the show, along with my husband who has not read the books. We both are enjoying the show immensely!
We're about halfway through season 2.

The one thing I find a little disappointing is that Avasarala is not as foul mouthed as she was in the books, but I like her just the same.

Char On the show I especially love her and Amos. They're both exactly as I pictured them. Who were your favorites on the show?

message 16: by Char (new) - rated it 5 stars

Char Jared Harris IS excellent, agreed! Also, Cara Gee.

I love the guy playing Fred, as we binged on The Wire last year, and he was one of my favorite characters. Idris Elba would've been good too, though. I really liked him in the Gunslinger movie from the Stephen King book.

Char We finished season 5 last night. I'm sad that we're almost done with this show. It's been an amazing ride!

Char We finished up season 6 last night. What an incredible show!

I loved that all the female characters were so strong. I'm going to miss all of the characters though. I feel like we've been living with them for months, and I guess we kind of have been.
