No paper? Blasphemy! :PBest of luck in being the first person ever to succeed at the paperless office.

LOL! I've tried that too... didn't last long.
Paper is the bane of my existence!
I'm slowly working my way through three reads (besides the AOSs) at the moment, which is an ambitious undertaking for me. At times, I find myself at a crossroads, trying to figure out where I want to focus my attention.
Plus, there are all of the British TV shows I started in the last two months:
-Midsomer Murders - I am on season 12
-Death in Paradise - Season 7
-Spooks - Season 4 (I think)
-Shetland - Season 2
-New Tricks - Season 1
-Vera - Season 1
-Wallander - Season 1
*Okay, so someone got themselves subscriptions to BritBox (standalone) and AcornTV (via Amazon) as early Christmas gifts.*
**Edit: Don't get BritBox through Amazon... Ads, ads, ads, and more ads! I canceled it in less than 24 hours and went directly through BritBox instead. Much better experience - No ads!!
The last series I finished on Netflix was Russian Doll. I can't even be bothered with Walking Dead (I died and didn't continue at the end of Season 6.) I did manage to finish Disenchantment and K-On, but that is pretty much it for TV watching over the last year now.I haven't started anything new TV-wise in probably six months now.
This morning, I completed The Real Thing AOS collection of stories. I now hope to concentrate on the other three titles I am currently reading.
I can't believe we've almost hit the two-week mark in January already. Time feels like it is going by too quickly!
Nyssa wrote: "I enjoyed Russian Doll... I wonder if Season 2 ever came out."Apparently summer this year.

Nice! Thanks :)
I just started the stories of The Marshall Project Southside Collection. This group of stories may take a lot out of me. I once read somewhere that America is lucky that black people want justice, not revenge. Stories like Payback bring those thoughts to the forefront.
As both a person of color and a woman, I have experienced a lot of foolishness. However, I have been fortunate (so far) that my life has rarely been in danger because of it.
I have never thought of myself as a vengeful person; I am quick to review all sides. I will give the benefit of the doubt when due.
But forgiveness and forgetfulness do not come as quickly.
I plan to download the Southside stories once I've cleared my KU list up a bit. Heavy stuff, but stuff that needs to be read, and kudos to Amazon for getting them out in front of so many people that way. (I'm sure it wasn't totally altruistic but still.)I would love to see them do a story series from The Innocence Project too.
Christa wrote: "I would love to see them do a story series from The Innocence Project too."True that!!
Nyssa wrote: "I just started the stories of The Marshall Project Southside Collection."I completed the last of that set this morning. Quite eye-opening!
The next collection, Bloodlands, contains more true crime but of a gruesome nature. I may wait until February before starting that series, but I haven't decided yet.
And to think, before this year, I rarely read any true crime stories at all. In fact, I avoided it.
I don't think I've read any true crime since 2011 when I read Starvation Heights: A True Story of Murder and Malice in the Woods of the Pacific Northwest. Which apparently left an impression since I still remember it.
Christa wrote: "I don't think I've read any true crime since 2011 when I read Starvation Heights: A True Story of Murder and Malice in the Woods of the Pacific Northwest. Which apparently left an imp..."That story sounds awful! No wonder you can't forget it.
I will keep to "short" atrocities, thank you very much! LOL
A few thoughts:1. January has always been a good reading month for me, but this has had to have been the best month I've had in years!
2. Knowing that I would be reading many short stories, I set an additional goal of 5,000+ pages for the year. I just hit 2,000 pages this morning! However, my average over the last nine years only comes to about 6,200 pages (give or take), so I think I'll leave that goal where it is.
3. Does anyone know just how long our individual posts can be?
Each of my reserved posts is meant to hold three months' worth of reading. I wasn't expecting to have 18 in January alone.
I wonder if I need to move January and February to my original post and then change the others to have two months each.
Congrats on having a great January! :)I think you should be fine on having three months in a post. Most of my cover posts contain the entire year, and I've had some other really long posts in some past years, and I never ran into any issues.

Awesome!
I've decided to walk away from the Jellyfish Princess series. I'm just not enjoying it. I find myself getting frustrated instead.
Nyssa wrote: "I've decided to walk away from the Jellyfish Princess series. I'm just not enjoying it. I find myself getting frustrated instead."Yeah, always best to walk away when frustration starts to set in. Especially when it's a series. Sometimes you just know when you're done. I once quit one partway into the last book of series. I was just, "I'm tired of these people and I no longer care what happens to them. NEXT!" LOL
Wait!?! The last book!?!Man, I don’t know if I could have done that.
You must have been more than done with the whole thing.
:D Yeah, I was so done. I don't even remember what the series was. I know it was urban fantasy, and there was an annoying romance subplot that kept floundering and dragging on. I was like, "Would y'all just boink so you can get on with saving the world and shit??"
It's been a good reading day so far! I read/listened to the first story in the AOS Bloodlands collection, and I completed the second book in the Cradle series.
Unfortunately, I did so prematurely, so I'll have to take a break from Cradle for a few weeks so that I don't end up too far ahead of schedule.
Nyssa wrote: "January has always been a good reading month for me, but this has had to have been the best month I've had in years! "25 books/stories read!
First, read of February is complete: On a Sunbeam,Longest read of the year so far at 533 pages.
It was okay. The ending was sweet.
Additionally, with the listening of The Brick Slayer, I have now completed more titles in 6 weeks than I have in each of the last four years.
I just finished listening to The Pied Piper, the last of the Bloodlands collection. With that, I am going to give the AOS collections a break.I'm currently reading and enjoying The Guild of the Cowry Catchers. I hope to finish it by the end of the month, but I am also moving, so we'll see.
So, along with the TV poll (which I posted in the appropriate thread), I created one with the series I am most interested in reading. And before you wag your finger at me, yes, Sookie and Rachel are on the list again - I am determined to finish those at some point before I die (I hope), but there are so many things I want to read!! The series poll is HERE.
That poll is running for most of the year; I may use it as a guide. I'm hoping it will help motivate me. According to my Kindle app, I have read every day for the past 63 days / 10 weeks in a row; and am 1 week away from beating my longest streak, which I unknowingly set in 2019.
As for now, I plan to complete the Pirates of Wefrivain and the Cradle series. Since Cradle is a buddy read, I'll be reading one title a month.
I also have a buddy read of the Inkeeper Chronicles series planned for April. I am very much looking forward to it! I loved the first book and have been wanting to get back into it forever!
Anyway, so again, for those who participate - thank you for your time.
Responded to both polls. My votes went to Murdoch and Rachel. :D I need to do a re-watch of Murdoch because it used to come on really late at night on one of the local channels, after the late shows and all that, and I enjoyed it but I never sat down and watched it properly.
Christa wrote: "Responded to both polls. My votes went to Murdoch and Rachel. :D I need to do a rewatch of Murdoch because it used to come on really late at night on one of the local channels, after the late show..."First of all - Thank you!!! :)
Secondly, I think I've seen up to season 5 (maybe). It is an enjoyable show. The only thing that bugged me was the will they / won't they between him and the doctor that stretches out for years. I meant to take a little break from it but then got sucked into both Midsomer Murders and Death in Paradise. lol
I don't know that I'll start from the beginning again, but I will most likely rewatch the last season I saw.
With the completion of Saga, Volume 9, I have met both of my goals for 2022:36 titles and 5,000 pages read!
Christa wrote: "Congratulations!! Wrapped it up before the end of February!"Thank you! :)
I was going to wait to finish Saga today (end of series, challenge, and month), but with so many reviews stating how heartbreaking it was, I had to know how the series left off!
They were right!
Okay, so I've gone a little poll crazy! ...Umm... wait ... that doesn't sound right!
Anyway, I think creating and participating in polls are fun, so I have another one for anyone so inclined to participate. :)
April - which should I read first?

I will take full advantage of my Kindle & comiXology Unlimited subscriptions.
