Oh ... put me in for at least Revolutionary War level. Since I both write and read books set during early American wars ... I ought to support this challenge!1)
set at the beginning of the French & Indian War2)
I hope this isn't too tacky, but I got the rights back on this novella, so I re-read it and added about 10% more content before putting it back out indie-published. And I'm counting it! The war was Pontiac's Rebellion.3)
I'm not a big reader of WWII fiction, but I loved this one!4)
The first book in this series was good, but this one was even better! Civil War era5)
I'm including this one even though it wasn't a "named" war. It's about the lost colony at Roanoke and their battles to survive against the hostile natives. This is the second book in the series - releases Oct 1st, I got an advance copy.6)
I got to read an advance copy of H.M. Hochstetler's Forge of Freedom (final book in her Revolutionary War series, American Patriot Series. I haven't read the whole series yet ... and now I need to!7)
WWII - a rather short but powerful book based on a heart-rending true story.8)
This is the last - and best - in the series. But you do need to read them in order, because each book builds on the one before. They all have a full story in them, but you need to know what happened in the first two to understand this one.9)
- loved this one! Civil War era and quite possibly Shannon McNear's best book.10)
- one of my top 4 Laura Frantz books! It's set during the backcountry wars (just before the American Revolution) between the settlers and the Native Americans.11)
is a dual timeline, and one is set during the Civil War. Wonderful book!12)
is set during the French & Indian War, but the focus is on the Quakers and their attempts to unite and not divide.13)
is set in Montana during the plains Indian wars, based on real-life characters, both settlers and Native Americans.
Not sure how much war I want to read at this time, maybe 1-10, but having just completed 1

Mid-year war books:1)
(World War II)2)
(Texas' war for independence)3)
(World War II)4)
(World War I)5)
(I don't know, whatever wars that France had when they liked to kill all their citizens)
This was an interesting challenge! I wasn't surprised to see I had the most books set in WWII, but enlightening to see all the covers separated by the various wars.
I comfortably met my Revolutionary War goal with 13 books:1. The Story of the Trapp Family Singers (World War II)
2. Heaven's Road (Texas war for Independence)
3. A Father's Promise (World War II)
4. A Peculiar Treasure: Autobiography (World War 1)
5. The Count of Monte Cristo (Whatever wars were in France and related to Napoleon)
6. Fateful Journeys (Civil War)
7. Home Front to Battlefront: An Ohio Teenager in World War II (World War II)
8. The Distant Beacon (Revolutionary War)
9. The Daughter of the Chieftan (Revolutionary War)
10. The Killer Angels (Civil War)
11. Sarah Morris Remembers (World War II)
12. A Soldier's Ruse (Revolutionary War)
13. Captain From Castile (Spanish colonizing wars)
So, pretty heavy on a few specific wars, but not bad variety. I really enjoyed many of these, and it's hard to choose a favorite; but Captain from Castile, which is fresh in my memory, and The Killer Angels are vying for the top.
Great reading challenge!
