Tarrenza
Tarrenza gripped her widden dirk close to her breast and swallowed hard.
Jail.
Again.
How very unusual.
She shook her head and clasped the widden dirk tighter, praying that they wouldn't take it from her.
They didn't.
She sat with her back to the wall, alone in the cold cell. If only the dwarves would see the instrument for what it was - just that. An instrument. And the visions were just the Creator's power. That was all.
But there was nothing for it. She'd just have to sit and wait for someone to break her out.
She placed the wind-slot to her mouth and began to play a slow, frustrated tune.
Light built behind her eye-lids and she played harder. Something was coming.
The light built until it flashed blinding, and then she felt weightless for just a moment.
When she opened her eyes, she was in a place that most definitely wasn't the jail.
There were stone walls, a long hallway that disappeared into shadow, flagstone floors.
She spun slowly, clutching the widden dirk like it could save her.
"Hello?"

Tarrenza
Tarr wandered slowly down the hallway, wondering where in the Dimensions she was.
She'd never seen a ceiling that high. It was disconcerting.
For the first time, she felt short. Like a dwarf.
Taste of reality there, Tarr.
She shook her head, her brown hair flopping around her face.
She sighed and pulled it away from her eyes.
Will the widden dirk help?
She placed the mouthpiece to her lips and began to play a questioning melody. For a second nothing happened, and her heart began to pound, but then she caught a scrap of vision.
There was a giant building. A castle.
And she was inside it.
((@KC, if Angelina is in earshot of Tarr's melody, there's a possibility she could have a vision. Just to complicate your life lol)

((Lol you're welcome))
Tarrenza
Tarr wandered the hallway. Knowing she was in a castle wasn't enough. She didn't know where the castle was or how to get out of it.
Whatever had happened when she played the widden dirk wasn't normal, and she wondered what it could mean.
The power in the instrument was intensifying, and it almost scared her.
She'd never been transported by the vision before, but here she was, wandering down a hallway built for people much taller than herself.
I have to find someone. I need to find out if there are other people.
Tarr set her gaze down the hallway, glared, and felt for her knife.
It wasn't there.
The jailors had taken it.
Tarr sighed.
This day just got better and better.

((Lol I love that. "the small person." I suppose you could have Angelina walk down the same hallway as Tarr after my next post?))
Tarrenza
Tarr stopped short.
Her neck prickled.
Someone was watching her.
Then the sensation disappeared.
She shivered. There was someone else here, but she was suddenly unsure that she really wanted to meet them.
She stayed still for a moment, listening. Everything was silent.
Then again, she'd never been known for sharp hearing. Maybe it wasn't completely silent.
She shook her head and began walking again, slowly, cautiously. It didn't matter whether she met the person or not, she just needed out, and right now.

Tarr froze. There it was again. Someone was watching her again.
She turned slowly, scanning back and forth. She didn't like this.
"Who's there?" she called.

(Just a heads-up, Tarr is 80 years old, and she looks like she's about... 60 by human standards probably. She's a dwarf lol)
Tarr examined a spot where the shadows looked... thicker somehow.
Suddenly a head just appeared.
"Boo," a female voice said.
Tarr raised an eyebrow. There was just... one head. Floating in midair. That was... odd to say the least.
"Hi," she said slowly. "Do you usually just... carry your head around?"

The face smiled. "No," she said. There was a pause. "Who are you?"
She'd clearly never seen anyone as short as Tarr before.
Tarr smiled. "My name is Tarrenza, but everyone calls me Tarr. I'm a dwarf. And you are?"

The woman shed her cloak, revealing a black dress, black ankle boots, black hair, generally black.
Tarr had a fleeting thought that it must be depressing wearing that much black all at once.
“I am known as Angelina,” she said. “former Guardian of the night.”
Tarr nodded slowly. "Former?"

((AAAAHHH sorry it took me so long to get back here!!!! :O))
Tarrenza
“It’s a long story," Angelina said with a dismissive shrug, but the haunted look in her eyes made Tarr shiver.
She'd seen that look too many times.
"How did you get here?" she asked quietly, hoping to change the subject.
Hoping Angelina's presence here wasn't tied to the previous subject.
Hoping she hadn't just made a terrible mistake.

Sonia
The mountains looked so beautiful in the afternoon sun. Sonia could stare at the way the wind and the sun made the forest look like a golden ocean for hours. That was when the maid had opened the window for her. She was only allowed to look out for one hour a day, and she always chose in the afternoon. The other hours she had to spend in the room she read her book, the one that she had brought with her when she came to the castle. Since she could only bring one book it got kind of boring because there was no surprises in the story any more. Sonia sighed. She got up and walked to the thick wooden door that led out to the dark hallways of the castle. She was allowed to walk around there, as long as she didn’t make a mess or disturbed someone. She slowly pushed open the door and quickly stepped out in the long dark hallway. After closing the door behind her she began to walk her quiet walk along the stone wall.
((I’m just writing for fun so most of this isn’t going to be perfect. My first language isn’t English either))

Jade
Jade grabbed the hilt of his dagger, which was sheathed on his belt.
Crouching, he snuck behind on of the guards. He'd have to be quick.
*As soon as I knock out this guard, I'll have to take out his partner immediately.* Jade tugged his hood a little lower on his face. Silently, he unsheathed his dagger and rammed it into the guards helmet. He crumpled to the group. Jade raised his arm to guard himself from the other guard's blow. The sword rammed into Jade's metal arm cuff.
"Good try" He muttered, and stabbed the guard in his neck. Jade looked around, listening for any others. (I'll get him into the castle later)

He looked around making sure no more guards were coming. Quickly, he began scaling the wall. Once he was inside, he looked around trying to figure out where he was. Jade heard voices and began walking towards them.

Sonia
She could smell the kitchen even when it was ten doors away. The smell of vegetables, fresh bread and soups always felt like home. It reminded her of her adoptive mothers food, the best food. Door into the kitchen was heavy and Sonia struggled to open it. The chef saw her and pointed her to the vegetables. She was always cutting vegetables, it was her chore. Well one of them.
Since her adoptive parents had died she needed a home. So her mothers friend, who’s a maid at the castle took her here and gave her a room in exchange for work. She “cooked”, cleaned and made sure the other in castle was alive.
Sonia was cutting some brown-ish carrots into pieces. It might be a castle but the food isn’t perfect, even though the food can be rotten some of the maids(including Sonia) would just fight for some of that.

Tarr heard voices from far away down the hall, and she tried to decide whether she should explore it or just stand there waiting for Angelina to get back.
She shook her head, tightened her grip on the widden dirk, and tiptoed down the hallway, peeking around the corner.
Her acquaintance was speaking with another young man who had a bit of a slimey air about him. She shivered. She really should have learned to fight when Kilied offered to teach her.
Oh well. It would come in time.
"...seem to think highly of yourself," Angelina was saying. "I have an ally back there-" she jabbed her thumb backwards towards where Tarr was standing. "So, would you like to join us?"
Tarr shivered again. Much as she didn't want to talk to this evil stranger, she knew it was probably better to keep him close by so they could keep an eye one him.
And I can always just...
Yeah. I definitely can't subdue him.
She'd leave the subduing in the event of an emergency to Angelina, who seemed to have a much better grasp of fighting than herself.

"Better to have allies than to have enemies, especially in the Arena." He walked over to her and stuck out his hand, cautiously.
"I'm Jade, and if you cross me, I'll kill you."

"Nobody likes me. Doesn't matter."
"RavenWood. You?" His hand played with the handle of his dagger.
"You don't get mad?" Jade said confused.
(sorry was eating dinner)
There was a ghost of a smile on Jade's lips.
"Ohhh, okay. Well, I don't know where I am either. I thought this was where my...um..victim was, but apparently not."

"I er.." He rubbed the back of his neck, and took a deep breath.
"Look, yes I was. I kill or I'm killed, it's how the games played. There's no getting out." He bit his tongue, to stop from shouting.

"Mmm, yeah. Serve the Emperor or die." He said it like it was normal.
He desperately wanted to get off the topic.
"You like to spar?"
"You like to spar?"
"Reminds me to much of the Arena. Though I have to practice every once in a while."
Jade clenched his jaw against a smile.
"Sure." He drew out his dagger, examining it.

Jade kept the sheath on the dagger so it wouldn't cut her. Jade just stood there, watching her...looking for a weakness.
He shook his head, rolling his eye. He quickly moved forward faking an attack to her neck, and kicked her in the shins.
As she fell, he hit her in the arm with the knife.
"Annnnd you ma'am..just lost an arm." He said, giving a light laugh.

1. NO CUSSING!
2. Be respectful to each other even if your characters are being jerks. :)
3. Try to be active, but don't spam. If there's five posts in between your characters, that's not a reason to panic.
And here are the other guidelines:
1. Any character is welcome, hero or villain, incomplete or fully developed.
2. Characters may enter or leave the castle at the writer’s choice.
3. The castle is meant to test your characters so all actions within group's and castles rules are allowed. However, certain crimes may incur the wrath of the castle and/or its guardians. Villains beware.
4. The number of active characters shall be no more than 1o to allow writers to easily keep up with who is in.
5. Invent rooms at will. The castle’s floor plan changes at random so if you can’t remember the map, who cares.
6. Going beyond the castle’s outer ramparts is impossible. This is to limit the size to a degree and encourage character interaction.
7. Have fun.
Other information
1. This isn't your typical role-play. The point of this is to develop your characters and your writing skills, so write your characters as though you're writing an excerpt from your WIP.
