If i’d realised this was going to be the endpoint for this achievement i would have completed it last year. Technically there are 4 books left but one is an ABC and another a cookbook, neither of which i have any interest in. I did plan on reading the remaining two but just realised they’re only really one story each, dug up years later, so i think i’ll call it a day with this final P.L.Travers approved volume.

I don’t know which Agatha Christie or similar novel Sundiver is knocking off but its certainly a copy of something. Mrs.Dalloway has a lot of Ulysses similarities. The other works should be obvious.
I might also have added the Bone People with its weirdly Sherlock Holmes-esque main character or Eugene Onegin with its Pride and Prejudice shaped characters.

Down to a Sunless Sea by David Graham [4/5] reviewYear in Review
Well it hasn’t been a great year for reading. I actually felt like i was going slow but my numbers say that was just in my head.
I think one issue was that i read a number of sets of things, like finishing the Cornelius Quarter, and rereading all my Shatnerverse books and the Narnia series. That focus on related things might be detrimental to me.
However i still have some similar plans for next year so i’ll see then if the issue persists. Maybe it was just that the stuff i read wasn't that good ;) .
Also i read quite a lot of sci-fi this year, not a favourite genre for me.
Highlights, were my continuing journey through James Branch Cabell’s, Biography of Manuel.
Even when i don’t rate his books that high i never regret reading one. Five volumes of that left, might complete it next year.
Another high point was my reread of Lord of the Rings was a truly heartening experience, but in terms of new 5-star reviews, just the one all year.. The Second Sex by Simone de Beuvoir.
An average rating of 3.2 with just the one new 5-star book, so a very unspectacular year overall.
