Jody (jodybell) | 3488 comments Thanks for the welcome back! I’ve been so out of the book loop that the last two years I’ve recognised next to none of the books in the Goodreads awards. Not cool!

Hope everyone’s been keeping healthy and well!

I'm doing movies this year as well, planning on trying to find a movie with less than 5000 ratings on IMDb for the less than 5000 ratings on Goodreads topic.

Jody (jodybell) | 3488 comments January Round-up

Well, I finished ✨ NINE ✨ books in January, which is only one less than the entirety of last year. Four read, five audio. The second half of the month was slower, but I'm really thrilled. It's just so nice to be reading again.

My favourite was, without a doubt, Sharp Objects, which in all honesty was a complete surprise as I really didn't enjoy Gone Girl. I'm definitely going to watch the series now!

I doubt I'll keep up the same pace for February, but I could be mistaken! I'd be happy with two read and two audio. I have a few physical books that I've started and never picked up again - I might try finishing one of those off.

Jody (jodybell) | 3488 comments At the halfway point of the year, I had 29 books read. And just finished #30. Very glad to be back on the reading bandwagon, even if it is at a slower pace than usual.

Yes Jody! Totally doable, as long as you don't plan on taking on Les Miserables lol

message 31: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Congrats Jody!

I thought about doing a half challenge or something and kind of going rogue and just read what I want.

message 32: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3488 comments Joan, I think that’s a great idea!! I really enjoyed being back in challenge mode after a year or two near, and it really helped me get back into reading more regularly, but I started feeling restricted in the last few months where there were things I wanted to read but couldn’t fit in. I’ll cheer you on!!

That's what happens to me. I feel restricted at the end. I notice that's when I slow down on reading. The beginning of the challenge it helps me decide what to read but by the end of the year I want to go in a different direction.
