Hey guys! For anyone who’s reading Gilded this month, what are your thoughts so far?

No what I expected ......and to start off like that -lol . I'm still in the first couple of pages .

I didn’t start it but I’m excited to read it! I’ve heard so many good things about it :)

Yeah this book is not like Marissa’s other ones, it’s darker, and more high fantasy, but it’s really good, especially at the end!

I love it! I was able to read the first 10 chapters or so and won the book through BookishFirst! I need to add this to my Jan TBR so I can join in the discussion :). I’ll probably skim the parts I already read as a refresher lol.

I finished the book a few months ago when it first came out. I agree it was not like the authors other books. I really enjoyed the theme of the book and the whole entire hunt aspect. But I wish there was more material about the two main characters than there was. I realize the whole book was not based just around them, but I feel like I finished the book wanting more but not how I usually feel when reading the first in a series anticipating the next. I felt more time could have been spent on the mysteries surrounding guild. I guess I will have to wait for the second!

I'll start reading it today and I'm pretty excited! I haven't read any of Marissa Meyer's previous works but have seen some really good reactions to this recent one so I'm definitely predicting a four-star read—at the least.

Really enjoying this so far. I’m about a third of the way through. I can see how it follows the tale but the twist Meyer has put on it is really good. I like how she’s using the terms from traditional German/Danish folklore too.

Yeah! I really enjoyed the German Folklore aspect as well

its a very interesting read! the way she writes the main character and the romance is unlike what shes written before and i highly recommend!

I just barely started reading, but I am excited to see where the story goes!

I just started reading, I just got out of a reading slump so I am excited to read this!!

I LOVED THIS. I can't wait for the sequel. I was hooked the whole time and had no idea what to expect.

Just finished it. I really like Serilda for her creativity and braveness. And Gild for his ingenuity and secrecy. This was such a great twist on Rumplestiltskin.

I agree! I’m finishing up the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa and she definitely has a way with fairytales. I cannot wait for book 2 of this series and for her next retelling

I just started it this week and I'm about halfway through. I'm hoping to get it finished before the end of the month. I'm really enjoying it so far!

Finally finished it :) My favorite part was probably the Gild and Serilda interactions, and my favorite character was probably Serilda's dad (go single father rep!)

I just finished this today and it was so good! My favorite character has to be Serilda and I really loved the twists at the end. I can't wait for the second book <3

Took me two attempts to actually get into the book, but I finished Cursed without a problem.

I know the original tale has a pregnancy connection, but I didn’t expect her to actually get pregnant like that. And I still don’t get how Gild got her pregnant in the first place if he was just a soul and not in his body. :/

I had the same thought, especially considering that she wasn't even pregnant as a soul her body was so like...what???
