JF NR 2022
Thanks Ann,I just want to mention there is a new thread going for The 2022 Determination Challenge come over and check it out and join us. We did something a little different this year. We are giving you 3 options to pick from so if You don't want to commit to 22 books you can pick one of the other two options we give you.
NR too early for just finished JF yetNR audio Lethal Seasons thanks Dan for the nudge
NR Kindle The Tenant group read book
Ended up finishing 2021-181 books so in 2022 my goal is 200 books plus 20 (18 books that I didn't make in 2021 plus 1 extra to make up for 2021) I know I'm crazy. NR: Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover
The Renegade's Woman by Nikita Black
Once a cowboy by Justine Davis
those are what I'm concentrating on first close to finishing first two once that happens will add more to list. my whole current list is on goodreads currently read shelf.
JF: Once a cowboy by Justine Davis (finished last night)Off to a great start 3 books finished and it's January 3rd. Will there be another one today not sure today's my library book club meeting so not sure how much reading I'll get done.
February book is The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles which I hope to maybe start this week. Hopefully I'll like it more than I did the January book Good Neighbors by Sarah Langan.
Christine wrote: "I’m reading a book called The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann"Great series. I think I still might have one or two I have to read to have them all read. I have to look on goodreads. I think I could go for one of her books now. I do have the ebook started for awhile now I started it at some point last year of Some Kind of Hero. It's Troubleshooters #17. I just looked and I'm up to chapter 4. I think I might check if library has large copy and if they have it in maybe I'll go pick it up. You can't go wrong with any of her books. I would totally recommend them. I still have a few unread of her's that aren't series books too. I always enjoyed her books they fit into the Romantic suspense genre that is one of my favorites.
update: ugh I didn't realize I already read and finished that one. I saw I read it in 2017. So I guess I put Ebook on my kindle to read and didn't realize it. so guess I can remove that one (I don't reread if I can help it) I do need to read Flashpoint which I think I might own a Hard cover copy, Hot Pursuit , ready to roll and Do or die. So I'll check if library has either hot pursuit, ready to roll and maybe do or die and start with one of those. I'll get to flashpoint but not in mood right now for that book if it's the one I'm thinking off. I rather do library one it might motivate me to read it. Don't want to start another owned one that I end up putting to the side started. (I know mind games.)
JF Lethal Seasons audio I'll read more, didn't love the narrator, but settled in. A bit more disturbing to read now versus a few years ago. NR settling on my next audio is still up in the air. Juggling a print book (late night reading to avoid screens) Raven Stole the Moon and Kindle, The Tenant.
Dawn I have black cake from publisher but haven’t decided to take it and read it yet. Game on I took back to library for time being unread.
JF: A Carnival of Snackery: Diaries 2003-2020 by David Sedaris.I launched into the audio of Robert B. Parker's Someone to Watch Over Me which I hadn't realized was out until I saw it in the library, and thought "who is this new character who is Spenser's assistant?" It's not in the tradition of the series to have a new character introduced that abruptly so I wondered if I'd missed one. Sure enough, I hadn't read the one before it in the series, Robert B. Parker's Angel Eyes. Since I didn't want to wait I zipped over to the library website and downloaded a copy to listen to on my phone. Phew! How did I miss the next in the Spenser series? What else am I missing? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!
ugh again haven't done much reading today. I seem to get lost when I come on to check internet and end up staying on longer than I wanted. LOL. I had errand this morning then came home and had to put food away and make my JC food update into notebook. Hopefully after dinner I'll read. Probably will concentrate on reading The Last House on the Street by Chamberlain. I'm about at 44 percent in the book.
Today I’m going to do a reading marathon want to try and finish reading The Last house on the street by Chamberlain (I’m at 60 percent)
The Valentine Wager by Nan Reinhardt (I’m at 24 percent)
Want to start
The Paris Library by Janet Skeslein Charles
A lot of reading hasn’t happened since the first few days of month have to get back motivated.
The Verifiers is a contemporary mystery with a multicultural cast and excellent plotting. My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Sequoia National Park is a perfect setting for the thriller Vanishing Edge by Claire Kells, where glam-campers have - yep - vanished!
3★ Link to my Vanishing Edge review
I'm currently reading While Justice Sleeps and Educated Educated. The first book by Stacey Abrams is a political thriller. A little slow at the start, but wow 2/3 through and can't put it down.
Educated is a memoir that I'm listening to on audio and really good but difficult to listen to at times told from the perspective of the youngest girl of 7 children in the mountains of Idaho. It talks about her struggle to get an education and her father's paranoia about the government and doctors. I'm about a quarter of the way through and it is very compelling.
j/f: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone- diana gabaldon (finally- feel like i've been reading this forever lol)n/r: Anxious People- Frederick backman

The Family Chaois an excellent contemporary mystery. My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Verifiersis a very interesting, diverse contemporary mystery novel. My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Traitor in the Ice is a very solid historical mystery set in Jacobean England. Really captures the politics of the era. My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Portrait of an Unknown Lady
is being marketed as a mystery, but the plot is very ephemeral, which made it a disappointing read for me. My *** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
JF: Robert B. Parker's Someone to Watch Over Me by Ace Atkinsand
Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory
JS: Rage by Bob Woodward
Trying to decide between our two group reads: The Tenant and The Girl Who Died. I think The Tenant has the slight edge right now.
JF Call Us What We Carry poetry by Amanda Gorman. I read it in print, now want to listen to her read the audio. I could have finished in a single day but held onto it like a treasure for two weeks. NR Family Business audio by favorite author S.J. Rozan

A tip - if you use the insert book cover feature, the text you type 'after the inserted cover' won't display on the Goodreads app. Inserting just the title or an author link works great on the app or to avoid parts of your post not showing on the app, insert book covers at the end and nothing is lost.
