Paula (itsnotavailable) | 13 comments Ok, so it's not that great, it's actually quite small compared to most of you but I'm someone who likes to read a new book as soon as I discover them and having more than 10 owned books to read it's already too much.

On the introductions thread I sad I had 20-30 books but I forgot to count a couple of boxed sets so there's a bit more. I currently own 35 unread books (physical and ebooks) and my ideal goal would be to reach Mount Blanc, however this is my first time so I'm starting small.

Also, because I'm a mood reader I won't be choosing titles to focus on but I took the time to separate my tbr books into two categories: when they were bought and lenght. My goal is to read mostly older books (or dnf them if I'm not interested anymore) and the number of pages I was just curious about and thought it would be fun to share.

Books by year
2014: 2
2015: 9
2016: 0
2017: 1
2018: 1
2019: 3
2020: 1
2021: 18

Books by lenght
Novellas and short stories (<100): 7
Short books (100-299): 11
Medium lenght books (300-499): 8
Long books (500-999): 8
Les Miserables (1912): 1

Total books on my TBR for 2022: 35

I'll update each month my new tbr number :)

Paula (itsnotavailable) | 13 comments Well, January didn't go as planned lol. I DNF 3 books, 2 of them I was already more than halfway through. I also took the time to reread the synopsis and reviews of several books in my TBR and decided to just take them out. I'll still be keeping them as some were gifts and others I'm sure I'll be able to gift to friends, but I won't count them as unread anymore.

January overall picture
DNFs: 3
Current TBR for the challenge: 27
Books bought (not included in the challenge TBR): 6

Because I was stuck trying to read books I clearly didn't want anymore before moving on to those I truly did, I didn't finish anything. For February I'll try not to force myself and just put the book aside without having to decided at the moment if I want to DNF or not. I still read a lot and started a couple of books I'm sure I'll finish in the next few days, so I'm happy with the progress.

Thank you everyone for the good luck wishes. I'm loving to see how everyone is doing with the challenge. =)

Yeah! I'm not counting them towards the number of books read, but I'm totally counting them towards reducing the TBR pile. My goal is to go through as many of them as possible this year, either actually reading it or trying and realizing their time has passed and I won't read them anymore.

Paula (itsnotavailable) | 13 comments February was better, but we had covid (we are all better now). I still managed to finish 3 books. Two of them were borrowed, one was from my TBR.

For those 3 books I read a total of 1038 pages, not counting the other books I already started but have not finished yet. I'm one of those people that reads 5 books at once.

February Overall picture:

Total books read: 3
Books read for the challenge: 1
DNFs: 0 (I did start one short story and I only read one chapter before giving up because of covid so I'm not counting)
Books bought: 0 (yay!)
Current TBR for the challenge: 26
Total books read for the challenge in 2022: 1

I have nothing planned for march besides started Les Miserables. I'm participating in a readalong where we'll be reading one part of the book (there are 5) each month. Much less intimidating than reading almost 2k pages in one month.

Paula (itsnotavailable) | 13 comments March wrap up!

I finished just one book this month, Pachinko. But I did start three others. One of them was Les Mis that I'll be finishing in a few months. Another one was a book from the challenge TBR that I DNFed. I'm still not counting DNFs as reads for the challenge as I do want to actually read 12 of my owned books this year. Still, it's one less book for me o worry about. The third book I'm currently reading is also from my TBR. I believe overall I read around 1000 pages this month, but I'll only add from the one book I finished.

Although it seems I'm not making much progress, I've already finished, DNFed or started almost half the books from the TBR I had January 1st. I'm also learning I'm someone whose tastes changes a lot in the spam of just a year and I'm staying clear from buying many more books until I'm done with the ones I have because as time passes I'm realizing I don't feel strongly about reading most of them as I did when I first bought.

March overall picture:

Total books read: 1
Books read for the challenge: 0
DNFs: 1 (from my tbr)
Current TBR for the challenge: 22 (I'm reading 2 of them at the moment and also gave up on 2 more because they were sequels from a series I won't be finishing)
Total books read for the challenge in 2022: 1

Paula (itsnotavailable) | 13 comments April and May update!
I read a total of 8 things these past two months. Five manga (all Spy x Family) and one book that were not on my TBR for the challenge. And two more books that were part of the challenge. I also started a third one for the challenge but DNFed after 100 pages.

April and May:

Total books read: 8
Books read for the challenge: 2
DNFs: 1
Current TBR for the challenge: 19
Total books read for the challenge in 2022: 3 (I've got to pick up the pace if I wanna read all 12)

Paula (itsnotavailable) | 13 comments June update!
I finished one book this month lol. But I'm currently over halfway through 2 more books that I should finish in July, one of them is from the challenge tbr. The book I finished was 398 pages but overall I read around 1000 pages. Besides that not much changed.

June:

Total books read: 1
Books read for the challenge: 0
DNFs: 0
Current TBR for the challenge: 19
Total books read for the challenge in 2022: 3

Paula (itsnotavailable) | 13 comments July and August update!
It's been a minute and I didn't update because I was moving, however... I still didn't read anything from my tbr lol. I don't really have any excuses, I'm just reading mostly new releases or catching up on series that I already had the first book and read them a few months ago and I am now reading the sequels that were not on my tbr. For those two months I read around 1500 pages across 5 books.

Total books read: 5
Books read for the challenge: 0
DNFs: 0
Current TBR for the challenge: 19
Total books read for the challenge in 2022: 3

Maybe I'll try to reach at least 6 books until the end of the year.

Glad you read Pachinko! It was definitely different for me reading about WW2 events within the perspective of a non-Allied country.
