Uprooted by Naomi Novik is basically Beauty & the Beast mixed with Red Riding Hood. Only, instead of a beast...it's a wizard who teaches magic!

Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire is...complicated. Book 1 is fairly bleak, but we get some found family and it's nothing but adventure from book 2 on! While it's not based on any one fairy tale, it reimagines the idea of fairy tales that humans have picked up from their very fae origins. Characters like Snow White show up all the time, oh, so subtly. I could not recommend this series more if you're in the mood for magic-wielding matriarchs. <3

Malice by Heather Walter is the lovely reinterpretation of the Maleficent character in Sleeping Beauty. Magic abounds!

Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim is Wild Swans/Ravens with all kinds of eastern fairy tales mixed in! Action, adventure, magic-times!

Ellie and the Prince by J.M. Stengl This one's a clean sweet retelling of Cinderella in a world that blends the modern and fantasy world together. I like Ellie because even though she's a powerful magic user, she's still logical, reasonable and isn't egotistical or abuses her powers. Her magical ability is amazing too.

I love it when they add elements to the story that weren't there before-especially when it really adds to the story!

Yeah like in Lore of Olympus it's interesting how the gods live in our modern era and the mortals are still in the Greek phase because the gods are more advanced. Makes me wonder what stage they would be at if we're at the modern stage.
