DivaDiane SM | 290 comments Oh, whoops! I completely forgot about it. Give me a minute and I’ll see what I can nominate!

Melanie | 1911 comments @ Leticia
We are looking for books that are less than 250 pages this month.

Leticia (leticiatoraci) I see. Have you read The Giver? It's the only YA I have in my TBR with less than 250 pages.

message 10: by DivaDiane (new)

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments I nominate Dying to Forget.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

“Sometimes the day you die is only the beginning of a new job.

Piper Willow dies the summer after her high school graduation and finds herself in a spiritual terminal called the Station. She's given only two choices: Move on to the unknown where she'll be faced to spend an eternity in her own personal hell or be trained as a Volunteer and return to Earth as the subconscious for a person in need of outside assistance. Does Piper have what it takes to save a life, to be the nagging voice inside another person's head? Or will she fail and end up lost and tormented... forever?”

This has an average of 4 stars on GR out of over 1200 ratings.

Melanie | 1911 comments DivaDiane and Leticia- both those nominations look good.

message 13: by Melanie, place holding for a future mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Melanie | 1911 comments I like both of those Ryan, but you have to pick just one :)

message 14: by Ryan (new) - added it

Ryan Both? I selected 11 cause it was easier (for me) than checking what's already on the shelf. Take the first one that is eligible. :)

Jennifer | 456 comments I'd like to nominate Keturah and Lord Death by Martine Leavett

Melanie | 1911 comments Still a three-way tie ... eeeek.

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments What? When I changed my vote, It was 8, 7, 7!

message 22: by Melanie, place holding for a future mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Melanie | 1911 comments Well, two other people changed their vote too...

message 23: by DivaDiane (new)

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments Argh. I'm tempted by the other two books as well, but they are not available to me without buying them (paying extra to buy them).

message 24: by Leticia (last edited Jan 16, 2022 10:32AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Leticia (leticiatoraci) Laughs, I think we should read the higher three in the pool, one now in February, one in March and one in April... They are short after all.

message 25: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 345 comments you could also just do a 3 day run off vote with the top 3 - close this one today - and then do top 3 for a couple days

message 26: by Melanie, place holding for a future mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Melanie | 1911 comments Yes. We will have a run-off if necessary. As it stands right now Pet is in the lead.

message 27: by Melanie, place holding for a future mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Melanie | 1911 comments It was a tight vote with a three-way tie for much of the voting period. But we have a winner. Our February Book-of-the-Month will be The Return of the Sorceress by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Will you join in reading it with us next month?

message 28: by Melanie, place holding for a future mod (last edited Jan 17, 2022 10:53AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

message 29: by Ryan (new) - added it

Ryan I will read it!
