I went with Jane Austin’s Persuasion for this one. It could also be a book made into a TV series or movie (and they’re doing a new 2022 version which is a reason I picked it up). This was my first book of the year after binging the first few seasons of Downton Abbey again on Netflix, so the book felt like a good fit.
I read "Another Country" by James Baldwin. Didn't love it, but it's certainly worth reading for Baldwin's prose and how progressive it was for the time.
I read The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie, a classic mystery featuring chewy, detailed prose and an intricate plotline that kept me guessing. This would be great for mystery readers (or non-mystery readers) that enjoy BBC dramas and reading "classics" of the literature canon.
