I don't think $15 minimum is a great idea for McDonalds or gas stations.

Also, I technically have had a job, but I didn’t technically get paid for it. I just got store credit. I shelved books at a bookstore

And I babysit a lot, which I should get paid for, since I do it during school time and I do it every single day of every week of every month, but I don’t
I look around 12, so I highly doubt I could get a local job. I'm breeding golden retrievers in the spring, so that business should probably bring in some income.

I'll probably be getting a job at an ice cream place down the street this summer so I can buy myself books lol

I'm not sure what the minimum wage should be....
Though this summer I'm getting a job so $15 dollars an hour would be amazing!!!!

I work at Bojangles. It's a southern chicken chain that pays decently for my area. I made roughly 12 dollars an hour just to cashier. this is decent, considering I am only 17. So I know that 15 an hour for some adults that ONLY work at Mcdonalds or gas-stations is underpaid. You have to think, despite having no degree or maybe not being able to find a better job that could be very well all they have. They need to be paid more the older they get.
bro I remember my first job I got mimium wage at 7.25 an hour. I worked my way up through promotions to 9.50 and hour and back in 2014 that was considered good money. Then my internships Which require college credit mind you. So no one off the street can get that job. Only paid me like 16.00 and hour and that was 2018. I made enough money to live without a job while at college during the semesters so long as I worked the summers. And now I'm seeing that fast food is hiring for 12, to 15 an hour. Like man inflation sucks.

Yes, this inflation is awful!
Yes, this inflation is awful!
It should be 20 dollars an hours
Ummmm no. Then the government would have have to make more money, prices would go up as well as taxes. So making the wages higher, sometimes doesn't really change anything, because you think oh I'm getting more money!! but then then prices on gas, or groceries go higher so then you end up in square one.
Some places In the US 20 dollars isn’t even the living wage. I think you should be paid enough to live decently..

I'm learning an overabundance of economics this semester. There are both pros and cons to having a high minimum wage.
A pro would be that some who live off of that much would have more money, and the poverty rate would go down.
However, many people who are only earning minimum wage are younger folks (e.g. high school and college students), and what happens when the minimum wage is raised is that businesses will lay off workers and be less likely to employ unskilled workers because they can't pay everyone more money and still earn a good profit. These unskilled workers are the very people that the wage raise is supposed to help. Some will receive a raise, but equivalently, some will also simply be unable to find work and/or be laid off.
