Once in the kingdom on her way to rescue the girls, she meets a young baker boy who is her love interest if I remember correctly. The wizard turns out to be her father and she’s actually kidnapping kids to bring to him. She is really the princess of the nearby kingdom but has lost her memory after the wizard kidnapped her and experimented on her. I think she also has a dog with wings. The book is a part of a series but I am mainly concerned with finding the first one. I believe the author is a woman, though I’m not 100% sure.

You're welcome! It's been a long time since I read it and I couldn't remember the name either, but it certainly had an original storyline.
