Another delicious read from Gabaldon. Missing the 5 star mark for me, because as in previous books, I think she expounds way to much on the little things. The book would have been better for me with 200 less pages.

The story begins at the end of book #8 in 1779 and the first few hundred pages are more or less an over-review of what has gone before. The American Revolution is in full swing and the people on Fraser's Ridge don't all agree that Liberty is the answer. There are some new characters entered into the mix, but it's the old friends that I was happy to embrace.

I think that Gabaldon is one of those authors where there is no middle ground. You either love her books, or you don't. I am obviously on the love side.
