Is there a limit to the number of narrators?

I am reading "we are legion" , and enjoying very much (I like all Andy Weir similar authors), but than I was thinking - how many narrator is ok to have? is there a limit? if we have too much, can the reader really connect emotionally to each one of them? if not - what is the purpose?
