I finished reading "Lady Susan" and I liked it. I am planning on reading "Pride and Prejudice".

Yes !!! I really liked it ( more than P and P , I'm sorry to say this). There are some portions that I believe will be universally loved by everyone , but some portions are ... not that good , atleast from the perspective of the characters' personalities . But those didn't bother me that much so I found myself really enjoying every bit of it.

Akshita I really want to read Emma.I've heard so many people raving on and on about it. Is it really that good?

I really want to like Jane Austen, but classics are almost always a miss for me. :( I tried reading P&P, but it wasn’t working, so I DNF’ed it. I’ll probably return to it later, but I’m bummed that I didn’t like it more.

I usually have no problem reading classics in general, but Jane Austen is just not my cup of tea ig.. Like I really wanted to like P&P but it was a huge let down , so ig I had really low expectations from Northanger Abbey. But it surpassed those expectations...😄

I liked it, she's an iconic and feminist character, and Mr Knightley is one of my favourite male characters from her novels.

I read Pride and Prejudice, and while I liked the premise and most of the book, it felt a little drawn out. Jane Austen though, was a pioneer for novelist, and her stories promted many spinoffs, so I cant help but like her stuff

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 360 comments I've read Pride & Prejudice and Emma, but I wasn't a huge fan of either of them because I'm not a huge fan of Jane Austen's writing style.

Yeah, that's me. :(

Although it's not just limited to Jane Austen — I'm just not a huge fan of the way classics are written
