Madiha | 227 comments Hey guys,

I've spent years looking for this book, as it got lost in our move from NY :( (I lost A LOT of book sadly)

I was awfully young when I read it, maybe 5ish to 7 1/2 (2012- August 2015), so forgive me, as I don't remember much.

The book was either a biography or autobiography of Eleanor Roosevelt.

It might have a blue cover, or something pastellish. Eleanor on the cover?

One scene sticks out though, and I know if I find this scene, I'll know:

The stairs. Pretty sure someone young, maybe Eleanor herself, was near the stairs.

I know this is REAALLLLY vague, but I'm still holding on to the hope of finding this book.

If it helps, It wasn't one of those Biographies that are short "pamphlet-like", It was like at least 200 pages, pretty sure it was 300.

Ty everyone!

-Fi

Aadi, please unprivate your profile. When you have a private profile, moderators can't see the threads you've started. You have 215 comments which makes it impossible to check your threads.

Denis DeLong | 211 comments Aadi, regarding the cover; do you remember whether it was a photograph or a caricature? Some browsers allow you to do a search (for example, "bios Eleanor Roosevelt") and filter to search only images. I've found one or two books this way.

I'm so sorry, I had no idea! I set it to public now :)

Again, my memory is pretty fuzzy, but it wasn't a caricature. A photograph or a realistic portrait maybe. Idk if this helps, but i know it wasn't full body lol.

Do you think it was written for kids, teens, or adults?

Denis DeLong | 211 comments There have been so many, and it seems as if most of them have pastel covers! Here are some possibles:

Eleanor Roosevelt, Volume 1: the Early Years by Blanche Wiesen Cook, pub 1993 (Don't know why I can't get a link to the title)

Eleanor Roosevelt: A Biography by Cynthia M. Harris, pub 2007, available at archive.org

The Autobiography of Eleanor Roosevelt, pub 2011, reprinted 2014; there are likely earlier editions available

Our Eleanor: A Scrapbook Look at Eleanor Roosevelt's Remarkable Life by Candace Fleming, pub 2005

Here Comes Eleanor: A New Biography of Eleanor Roosevelt for Young People by Virginia Veeder Westervelt, pub 1998

Eleanor Roosevelt: Transformative First Lady by Maurine H. Beasley pub 1993

Definitely was not aimed toward a younger audience; the language was advanced and it was pretty book.
I'm sorry, I have zero idea if it was new...

The second and last book needs a bit more investigation, but the others aren't it! Thank you!
