based off a poem i wrote when i was like 9 abt valentine's day
love is in the air
i cant help but glare
look at that couple over there
its just not fair
why don't i give them a good scare
i'll shave off all their hair
alright i gotta prepare
should i cause them such despair?
maybe they should fill out a questionnaire
oh look! a bear!

based on everyone's fav movie character, shaun the sheep (in this version he's gay and depressed)
i awoke at dawn
as my sheep wanted to be drawn
his name was shaun
he loved to eat prawns
though he was always a bit withdrawn
he always wanted to go to babylon
he lounged around on our lawn
when we played chess he always moved his pawn
he had no brains but a lot of brawn
one time he ate a swan
he loved to yawn
his poems were always spot-on
his partner was named amaron
he made shaun couvillion
but now he is unfortunately gone
shaun is now embrawn
he spends his time with an espadon
he makes his crafts hands-on
there are many things shaun has undergone

this one mary gave me the starting line for :D
one day an old man sat in his chair
actually there was not a chair
his wife had divorced him, fair and square
she won all of their possessions, including the old man's hair
the old man wanted to glare
and his ex-wife and her new boyfriend Pierre
he wondered if Pierre had a second to spare
for the old man wanted to give him a few dozen pears*
what if Pierre sold the pears?
then he would be a millionaire!
the old man sighed and started to play solitaire
he thought Pierre was as dumb as Cadence Sinclair
he wanted Pierre to wear
that monkey suit over there
but alas, the old man had lost custody of his air
he was dead by that point, i'm sorry to share
*for context, pears are a bad omen in taiwanese culture

i reached the topic limit so im putting this here as a reminder to myself to make a topic called "poetry collections/anthologies" in the "bookish things" topics and put this there:
i love reading poetry collections they always make me cry lol (not fictional books in verse, those are different and there's a different topic for that)
rupi kaur. just read everything rupi kaur. she's ugh just so amazing; Milk and Honey is amazing, so are The Sun and Her Flowers and Home Body

One day there was a woman named Grace
she was dismayed as she felt out of place
Yes, this was unfortunately the case
She did not like her face
She could never hit first base
She made clothes out of lace
Her parents called her a disgrace
She had never been given an embrace
Then one day came along a guy named Wace
He reassured her that she was in her place
He made sure that she loved her face
As it was quite the face
They hit first base
They both made clothes out of lace
He slapped her parents who called her a disgrace
He left not a trace
He gave her an embrace
Grace finally felt in her place
They each ate grapes
And gave each other updates
And made sure not to displace
And each went at their own pace
They made many plates
Enough to fill many crates
There is no debate
Grace and Wace are interlaced

i just remembered this convo i had with a s*xist dude the other day... he got all mad about being put in a group with all girls, we'll call him R
i was like
"oh im sorry to rain on your parade, R, but life's not fair! it's just not, society is not fair. in fact, i'll give you an example of how society is not fair. when a man sleeps with a bunch of women, he is called a player, etc, and is admired in our society. now, when a WOMAN sleeps with a bunch of men, she is called... R's mom."

have y'all ever wondered about gendered insults?
women are called sl/ts, wh/res, h/es, sl/gs, promiscious, etc.
men are called wimps, softies, etc. and need to man up
when a woman is called a b/tch, it means she is attacking
when a man is called a b/itch, it means he is cowering
the worst thing a man can be is weak but the worst thing a woman can be is strong

i feel like hippo is a size-related nickname... which does not make sense considering i'm 5'3" and weigh as much as a 11-year-old should :/

radio silence has ace rep, it's not a romance at all lol, and it's interconnected to the other alice oseman books (not that you have to read them to understand this one) so that's where the school burning down and stuff comes from, just keep reading :D
